Washington McDonald's Supports Transgender Rights With Bathroom Message

A Seattle McDonald's has put in a message in the restrooms in support of transgender right to use the facilities.  I'll be in Seattle a month from now to visit relatives.  I'm Lovin' IT!

Yay! That's great news. And if one doesn't want a big Mac, may I suggest the new "Chicken McWrap"? This is a totally awesome wrap (12" tortilla), fresh veggies, and the spicy chili adds just a hint of kick...

Finish your lunch, then go potty in your proper restroom...:D
...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

Now, Beth, you were doing so good on the fast food this time last year. Now you're pitching their wares like you're a shareholder!  What happened? Hugs, Devlyn

I was NEVER doing good with fast food. It's like the best anti-depressant I've ever had.  :( + McD's =  ^-^

eta: ok, it's the SECOND best anti-depressant...cuddling with a special someone is The Best.

I just try to have it in moderation now. But the McWrap...what's not to like about fresh veggies? Just because it has the Golden Arches doesn't make the cucumbers unhealthy. The only thing I don't care about it is the price...$4 USD seems a titch high...but once a week ain't bad.

imho

McDonald's has some tasty food, but I can't find a way to justify spending what money I have on empty, temporary sensory pleasure - especially pleasure so fleeting and meaningless as deliciousness.

I just don't see the point. Perhaps this line of thinking is why I'm so skinny, bitter, cynical, paranoid, and lonely.

For those that do see the point, congratulations on this victory.

Well, I'm not skinny...but I am the other things you mention...now I feel sick of myself.

I go to Mickey D's when I am on the road.  I usually go there when there is no other sit down restaurant around.  I went to my sister house in Texas last November and found that Mickey D's was the only chain restaurant open for breakfast while going through one of the small towns.  Their local family sit down eatery, you cannot get into their parking lot.  I had to go back to the other exit and went to the McDonald's and waited in a long line at the take-out.  The dining area was closed due to remodeling.  Myself and the other customers were in the parking area eating our breakfasts in our vehicles.

Mc Donald's to me has been kind of a place where you know the food is going to be the same from Seattle to Sarasota . My son loves the Chicken. Still, I'm ever so hopeful that this policy is somehow expanded to ALL Mc Donald's locations everywhere . Personally, I believe it's in the best interests of their "Bottom Line " ! ellen
See ya on the road folks !!!

Gender expression? So drag queens, male cross dressers,
impersonators(etc) are allowed to go in the women's bathroom?
I'm just wondering if I read that right?

Edit: Nevermind. Someone explained it in the comments :P

That is a very sensibly worded policy; I'm impressed that they put a lot of thought into it. The key phrase is "the gender identity they publicly and exclusively assert or express." In other words, if you're dressed up as a drag queen just for show, that isn't an excuse for using the women's bathroom. If you are a transgendered or intersex person, you use the restroom that matches your expressed gender.

McDonald's isn't the cleanest or most nutritional restaurant, but yet it is one of the most accepting. I work at one in Central PA and they are so accepting of differences it's amazing. Compared to my job before at Subway, where everyone looked down on me because I had tattoos, short hair, and I like girls I feel much more accepted. Go McDonald's! Now just to make better food! :)
They always told me life is what you make it, no thanks I'd rather fake it. To me life's a party so let's do it naked! >:-)
