Sorry.

Could not avoid the crude title!

Ive been on HRT for a few months but I finally think they're happening. But I'll ask since it's not as bad as I thought it would be.

I'll preface by saying I was overweight most of my life, and still technically am but am extremely active as well. So I did have some fat in my chest area that hasn't gone away and now obviously never will lol.

But more to the point, I've increased E dose recently and it still isn't all that high. But Ive been noticing more pain in my nipples at random intervals in the day, and now a very subtle occasion throbbing in my breasts. It becomes moar apparent when Im out running to the point that im thinkin a sports bra might be in order.

Now its progressed to more throbbing during the day and waking up this morning was a bit different. I typically lay on my side.

Oh and I felt around a bit and the tissue seems a bit denser just below the nipple or so. Is this typical, are they growing?

Ya, ya I know I should ask my doctor and I know it's going to be something she examines but my next visit isn't for weeks!

Hi Kelly,

I am a just over a month on HRT and am fortunate to be off to a good start with developing breasts.  You know what is often said about YMMV but I want to assure you that from my limited knowledge and research the sensations you describe are expected and common.  Raising a daughter I recall her complaints in puberty and during her menstrual cycles when her breast would be tender and even painful.  I have greater empathy for her today!
The growing tissue and breast "buds" have frequently been noted by other mtf people on this site.  My breasts are very tender and i do wear sports bras--some with the thinner shield like cup for amour.  Sport bras tend to be less expensive and since we may not be sure what size we will eventually have, an economic choice?  I also find, like you, that even my sleep position is affected by this very welcome new growth.  Sounds to me like you have something to celebrate!

Yours for bra shopping,
Tessa James

Yeah!

Im sure there were changes from the get go, but I was fat, not skinny since I was a teenager so I got used to the idea of seeing my chest a bit more round in the front lol.

These changes are also in line with an increase of dose, so maybe that's what I needed!
