Is it normal to be nervous, and have self doubt about being trans and starting HRT. I have my first apt. today and hopefully I will get prescribed my hormones I was so excited and couldn't wait to start but now im nervous. Im still going to go through with it because at heart I do know im trans and I want to be the girl I always felt I was. I just want to know is it normal to question yourself, because it's a lot to take in.

It's such a big deal! Nerves are to be expected... And I can understand that kinda mental check ( doubts? ) thing. It's import to reaffirm where you're at. Having said that, I didn't question myself at all.

I hope you feel the same as I did with the prescription... I just about floated down the flight of stairs from my docs practice :)

It's completely normal and it's how I'm feeling too.  But I recognize it as exactly the same feeling I had going from high school to college and then from college to the real world.  It's a "fear of the unknown" nervousness since hearing other people's stories isn't quite the same thing as living it yourself.
Sometimes I blog things

Of course I'm sane.  When trees start talking to me, I don't talk back.

Dlee it certainly is a major step in our lives and I would guess that most of us were very nervous with that first appointment.  Will your medical provider agree with your diagnosis, plan and be a helpful resource; I was sure worried about that even though it seemed I had crossed every t and dotted every i.   I have not really felt "normal" for long time and like you "I do know I'm trans."  Still, it is a lot to take in.  I was delighted to have my wife with me and I hope you might have someone supportive there too as it is a lot of information and consent forms to read and initial dosage instructions and more to remember.
If a letter from a therapist is required I recommend you have a hard copy in hand when you arrive.  We know important things can get lost in the mail.  Please keep your chin up and stand as tall and proud as possible.  You are taking a big step for your transition and identity.  Congratulations!

Are you trans? Only you can know that.

Do non-trans people want to be another gender? No

Food for thought...
"For transpeople, using the right pronoun is NOT simply a 'political correctness' issue. It's core to the entire struggle transpeople go through. Using the wrong pronoun means 'I don't recognize you as who you are.' It means 'I think you're confused, delusional, or mentally I'll.'. It means 'you're not important enough for me to acknowledge your struggle.'"

yes, a these feelings are normal. I had your exact feelings, thoughts  and doubts prior to starting  HRT. Its is just you fighting yourself to step out of your comfort zone. One you start them and start seeing the changes, it will go away!
Don't judge a book by its cover! My lifes been like a country song! True love, amazing grace, severe heartbreak, buckles, boots n spurs! I 've been thrown off the bull a couple times, I keep getting up and dusting myself off! Can't give up on my happily ever after!

Its completely normal to be nervous trying to make the first appointment. I was so nervous that I had trouble trying to make the first appointment.  It took me 3 years to make my actual first appointment. It was also much easier than I anticipated it would be. The first step is always the hardest it seems for me. After the first one it was easier to relax. Also don't be afraid of asking questions, no matter how dumb it may seem :).
