i have some questions and i want to ask my mum or my brother, but i am not so good at talking and i get all embarrased and say the wrong thing.

my brother is turning into a woman.

what is the right word?
is it tran sexual or tran vestite or tran gender?

i watched the rocky horror and in that they said tran vestite.

and.

when my brother has his operation, will he be like a total woman? will he be able to have a baby? will he have periods? i don't see what is so good about being a girl, i got my period this year (i got it when i am a bit older then lots of girls but my body stayed young longer then most) and it is yuck. it hurts and makes your tummy sore and i get a rash from the pads and tampons are just about the scariest thing in the whole world. if i could choose, i would be a girl, but no periods.

he still has a beard sometimes. will he always have a beard? or will after the operation he have no beard?

Somebody who wants to become a woman is a transsexual.
Someone who wants to just dress like a woman once in a while is a transvestite.

Transsexuals take hormones to make their bodies more like a woman's.
They have to have electrolysis (which is permanent removal of their face hair) so that they don't have to shave.
They have surgery so that they will look and feel like a woman below their waist.
Since they don't have the organs that most women are born with they never have periods.
They also can never have babies.

thankyou for answering my questions.

i think it is sort of sad that transsexual people can't have babies. if you are a woman inside, you must be a mum inside too and want to have your own little baby. i'd like to have a baby one day and i would be so sad if i couldn't because there was a mistake with my body.

can a girl be a trasvestite? like a girl that dresses up in boys clothes sometimes? sometimes i dress up like a boy and put my hair under a cap and pretend i am a boy. lots of people think i am a boy, in shops and stuff. i don't really want to be a boy, but i like being kind of tough, you know? i am still a girl and like girly things and all that.

do transsexuals like to wear clothes of the sex they are wanting to be? my brother doesn't wear girl clothes very much, not round the house, sometimes if we go out he might put on a blouse, but i have never seen him in a skirt. he doesn't even wear ladies undies, he doesn't wear bras. i thought ladies had to wear bras!

Yes, it is a bit sad that many of us here can never have babies.
Still, raising a child for 18 years as a parent is a very important part, too.

Girls can dress up like boys but people don't seem to take it as seriously as boys dressing as girls.
Finding out exactly what kind of person you are is important.
If you want to be a little bit more like a boy, but still stay a girl, that's fine.
That's called being a "tomboy". :)

What you wear is an obvious sign to other people, but it might not have a lot to do with who you really are.
Most women wear bras, but there is no law!

i think i am a tomboy. isn't it weird that girls can dress up and pretend to be boys, but boys can't play and pretend to be girls? i think that doesn't make sense. i think a lot of people have rules like what a boy can do and a girl can do, and maybe really there is no rules at all. like today at Christmas, the girls cooked lunch and cakes and did the washing up and all of that, while the boys watched tv and ate chips and drank beers. i think boys can cook just as good as girls. probably better, i am a real bad cook. i always burn my cupcakes. and on master chef all three of the judges were guys ad they were important cheifs, so they must know really well how to cook. i couldn't understand my brother because he isn't girly, like he doesn't wear skirts or do his hair or anything, but maybe that isn't being a girl, maybe being a girl is just something inside you that you know, like how you know you like peas or something. i don't know.

i'm glad, most people say i'm not good at saying things, so i am glad i make sense. i mostly make sense in my head, but when it comes out nobody knows what i am talking about.

i am trying real hard to be nice to my brother. i bought him twilight for Christmas, because he likes scary movies about vampires and ghosts and things, and i thought maybe being a girl he might like the romance in it to. i like twilight. i like that bella is kind of shy and quiet and just reads alot and doesn't have many friends and then edward comes and they fall in love.

and i meant to say, i wrote my brother's girls name on the Christmas card. it felt a bit funny, last year i wrote his boys name. but mum and daddy always call him by his girls name and say she and her, so i think i have to just kind of see that it is happening and nothing i can do will change it.

i have another question. did my brother's boobs grow from taking the hormone or did he have an operation, like breast implants like pamala anderson?

Yes, it sounds like your sister (not your "brother") has been taking hormones.
They actually cause a lot of changes, but having your breasts grow is one of them.
Some transsexual women don't get a lot of breast growth so they get breast implants.
A lot of women who were born female get breast implants too.

i'm sorry i have been saying brother and not sister. i'm sorry if that has been upsetting you. i didn't think. it is a hard change, you know, like if mum suddenly said she wanted me to call her bob all the time.
some girls at my school want to get implants. i would be a bit scared to have an operation. do you think my sister is scared of having the big operation? i watched a tv show on mtv called 16 and pregnant and a girl had a baby by ceserian section and they had to cut her down there and she said it really hurt. will it hurt my sister? will she be in hospital for a long time? my mum had a historectomy when i was about ten and she was in hospital for a real long time. i missed her a lot. operations look so scary. what happens if they cut the wrong thing or don't sew you up right? i had stitches in my arm once and that was scary enough. will my sister have to have stitches? i wouldn't like to get implants. i have a small body and i like that. boys like big boobs, but i don't really want boys to like me, you know? boys scare me.

Don't worry, Bunny. It's even hard for us sometimes to get used to a new name.
At first we might even sign the wrong name by accident if we're really in a hurry!
Just try to remember, they will appreciate it.

I don't want breast implants either. I like my body too.

Operations are a bit scary sometimes, but you have to understand that we want this operation so much!
Depending on where we live we might have the government or insurance pay for the operation.
For most of us though we have to pay the $15000 to $20000 US dollars that the operation costs ourselves.
You only need to spend a few days in a hospital and then a week or so in a recovery house afterwards.
It doesn't hurt all that much and the nurses give you enough pain pills that it isn't a problem.
Most people are so happy to have this done.

This reply or post is for Bunny.  I am in the public service field and feel free to seek help from your local ambulance personnel, or even firefighters as we can get you the help or the resources you need to get this to stop.  This is not right.  Being touched in a bad way is wrong!  You need to tell someone about this!  If nothing else give someone your email address so they can give the authorities your Ip address and find you.  Please Susan, let's see if we can help her.
Smile, everyone will wonder what you are up to.

I was reading through old threads and saw this post and the other posts connected to it.

Was this taken care of? Did someone get the girl help and get in touch with the proper authorities?

Knowing Susnas' you can be pretty certain that whatever was appropriate was tried.

I figure that's the case, but could one of the admins confirm that? It would put my mind at ease.

Again, knowing Susans', I doubt it. You might get a general response such as 'We are aware...ect.' .

I think you should just trust the mods here. They know they stuff and are pretty well organised.
