Hi Everyone,

I am the partner of an MTF. My partner came out as being TG in July of 2012. Both of us are in counseling and my partner has started electrolysis and HRT. She has come out to my parents, her parents, and some local medical professionals. The next step is family and friends. So far, we have received fairly positive responses with the exception of my dad with whom there is other issues as well. I am looking forward to meeting other SOs on here and was encouraged to see some TG persons from Michigan who commented on a previous post about U of M TG Services. Even though there are plenty of TG individuals out there, sometimes it's hard to find people locally. It'd be great to meet TG persons and their partners/families. Looking forward to talking with you more!

When you consider that just 0.3% of the population self-identifies as transgendered (UCLA study, 2012), it is not surprising that it is hard to find others.  Support groups are usually found in major metropolitan areas, not out in the boonies, where
I am located.  Good luck to you both.  I urge your partner to consider joining, if she has not done so already.

Hi Sunshine, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 10984. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another SO.

And be sure to check out these links ( MUST READS )
