I absolutely hate bodyhair, and currently shave everything but my head and eyebrows. Apparently HRT is going to make me grow even more of the stuff... Would it be terribly akward for me to become male, but continue to shave off all my bodyhair?

Not socially awkward. Lots of guys shave, others manscape, and others don't have any body hair to speak of.

As far as inconvenient, sure sounds like it. Glad I don't have to :)

For some reason that response made me laugh.

I'm actually concidering headding it all off, and saving up money to have laser hair removal... full body if that's at all possible. Maybe if I have no folicles the HRT can't make more hair grow, and then I won't have to buy a new pack of razors every few days.

I envy Asian guys and their hairless-ness. Hell, I envy Asian men in general. But I digress, it's good to know that I won't be the only person out there. I guess being a gay ftm (well, gay once it's all said and done) will make it a bit more acceptable as well.

Hey Chrys. I'm headed the other way (MtF) but I use an epilator for everything but my armpits - which I shave. I'm a pretty fair contortionist now, which I am shure will come in handy  :D The epilator gives me a 2 - 3 weeks of hair -free bliss.

Mine is a Remington, and it cost about $50. Like any appliance, there are many flavors. The first time I used it, it hurt like the dickens; so grit your teeth, hang onto something, and dive in! :)
Here's a good forum about hair removal, by Andrea James.  It's almost everything you ever need to know about hair removal:

Barb,

Thanks for the link. In just a few minutes of reading, I found a bunch of information I've been looking for.

And, you're right about the epilator...the first time it hurts like Hades, but wow is it nice not having to shave my legs every day.  I'll never go back to shaving (except every couple of months when you have to shave those tiny hairs the epilator can't get).

Ya put your right foot in.  You put your right foot out.  You put your right foot in and you shake it all about.  You do the Andro-gyney and you turn yourself around.  That's what it's all about.

i'm with you on the hair dude!

But i'm odd - i cant wait to get on T to get some of that stubble stuff, but heck, it will all go! The legs, the 'pits, the face, the chest, the face... all would be left will be the hair on my head and eyebrows. I dig the complete top to bottom shaven look, on guys esp.

'cept, duno bout arms. I once shaved my arms and they went all rashy  :-\ That really sucked.

Chrys genetics determine your amount of body hair.  I happen to not like body hair but I genetically have almost none.  College swim teams frequently shave off all their body hair for swim meets.  Likewise  professional body builders remove their body hair for competition.  If you present as a male and shave the lower part of your legs and wear shorts you might get a comment from one of your friends.  Otherwise no one cares.  Modern males do not need to look like apes to be accepted as males.
