How much discomfort is typical?

I'm talking about the throat/larynx.

I fully understand that stretching/thickening cartilage is not supposed to be a pleasant experience (particularly not when such changes happen in mere months rather than years as would otherwise be the case of it), however... I'm becoming a mite concerned over the degree of discomfort I'm experiencing off and on at this point. It's like I can actually feel it when it's stretching out or something, and it's just an overall extremely uncomfortable sensation and sometimes even painful. Feels like it is far too tight more often than not anymore.

In fact, my entire tracheal area feels like that when it happens, not merely limited to the adam's apple area. I mean, I noticed the entire tracheal area had enlarged and became more prominent after a couple of months and I even felt other structures in there stretching and giving way/moving aside for it to prod out more than it ever had before, but this is getting a little too intense recently. I'm no stranger to discomfort or pain but uh... yeah. I've tried a lot of things to help it but even coffee/tea doesn't quite work to take the edge off anymore. It's kind of like the opposite of being choked, if you can imagine it. Sometimes makes liquids go down the wrong way because it feels so different and the like.

So anyway, I'm just wondering... how much is too much? Or rather, at what point does it become warranted to mention it to a doctor? I'm certain there's not a whole hell of a lot that could be done about it, but all the same... is it possible for things to go too far in this respect and to cause problems?

See a doctor. Your thyroid is that same spot and if you're having a growing issue, then it might be your hormones jacking things up.

I never had anything beyond slightly uncomfortable for a short period of time before stopping when my voice was changing.
I'll be there someday, I can go the distance
I will find my way, If I can be strong
I know every mile, Will be worth my while

When I go the distance, I'll be right where I belong

Yeah, I agree with "Wolf Man", that is a bit too dramatic to not see a doctor and get checked out.

I never felt more than some tightness and kinda like I had a wad of snot constantly in my throat that I need to clear.

Alright, I'll mention it.

Before T, I'd had my thyroid checked and it was fine. Labs and also having it structurally felt out. So at least I know that it was alright before. I kind of have an idea of what it's supposed to feel like as well and I don't notice that particular area being excessively spongy, hard, large or anything like that. No symptoms that could be attributed to thyroid problems either, everything's been fairly great on T so far.

But, I do notice that the entire trachea itself is a lot bigger (and I know the trachea isn't the esophagus, but this is just an example of one of the changes here; somehow I'm able to swallow a whole ice cube where I'd never really been able to do that before, for instance and yeah I figured that out by accident lmao) so I'm thinking maybe it's just the size and amount of growth it's done that is doing this. And I'll admit, I have seldom occasion to actually use my voice in any given day so that could very well be part of it too. Right? Like, I don't hardly speak 20 words in a day... so... yeah, that's probably a big part of it.

Not going to worry yet. I'll make the appointment but in the meantime I'll try and use my voice more to see if that helps loosen things up a bit.

Today its better but that's how it goes, intermittent thing. And usually in my second week after a dose. And at night more often than during the day as well, so it definitely does coincide with the release of the growth hormones and such too.

Probably not anything to worry over but I will get it checked out. Thanks guys.

Hey I hope you saw a doc already. I can recall feeling like I was being choked, though likely not to the degree you are experiencing. But sometimes my throat would feel way too tight and would not ease up, and that did scare me. I hope things work out soon, though. Best of luck
