So this is sort of a humorous story more than anything...not at the time but funny afterwards.

So my mom asked if I wanted to go shopping with her for some stuff for my new place as an early birthday gift and I figured what the hell why not?  ::)

Keep in mind i'm in boy mode at this time.

when we get to the department store..

Her: "do you need any new clothes as well?"
Me: "Uh no I got enough to get me through till August (agreed full time month)"
Her: "No I mean "other" clothes"
Me: "Um ya, always"

Big mistake

What proceeded was the most awkward moments of my life. Shopping for girls clothes with my mother as a guy... :P

Her: "What about these jeans? Do you...I mean her....I mean she...like this kind"
Me: *mumbing* "no..."
Her: "What?"
Me: No..
Her: "What?"
Me: NO! *all the women in the area look up at me and I pull out my phone and stare at it pretending to text."

You get basically how the rest of the experience went   ;)

Her: "Why are you acting so weird"
Me: "Uh because we look like a mother picking out girls clothes for her son and people are staring!"
Her: "Oh well you just need to be more confident when you shop, lot's of guys buy clothes for girlfriends and stuff."
Me: "Ya but not with Moms who ask out loud if they like the style and how it fits!" *facepalm*

We both laughed about it later but I was blushing the entire time. Oh well good practice I guess for dealing with stares... ::) :P

Anyways just thought i'd share for fun

Using the wrong pronoun means 'I don't recognize you as who you are.' It means 'I think you're confused, delusional, or mentally I'll.'. It means 'you're not important enough for me to acknowledge your struggle.'"

Your mom is awesome my mom would never do that with me.  :)

This was such a cute story.  Despite your mom being super loud, it is awesome that she is so open and accepting of everything to go shopping with you.  Really, that must feel fantastic. As for mom's saying things out loud, I can totally relate.  My mom always says cute things that are a little embarrassing out loud without noticing.  I imagine in your mother's perspective she is just bonding with her daughter and not even thinking about the reactions of others.  To have a mom with that mindset is really great.

Going to disapear and get a nice set put them
On and walk right out and ask loudly. ...

I've had an experience or two like that before except it was the reverse.

I was in boy mode and she was looking at clothes for herself and I was giving her fashion advice... it was pretty awkward as well xD

My spouse does something like this when we go to the mall,

Her: "do you think Michelle would like this?" as she holds something cute up like its gonna be a gift

Me: "of course I would" big smile

You have a very sweet mother :)   That is a nice story

Your mom sounds like a sweet dear who is very supportive and kinda excited to share mother/daughter moments with you  :)  Maybe go in girl mode next time

Ya my parents have been great. Both of them are so supportive and always there to talk me up when i'm feeling down about life or my looks. I wish every other girl here had parents like that. It makes me feel terrible when I hear stories of rejection or downright hatred from parents towards their children for being trans. It makes me want to hug my parents that much tighter every time I see them.

Hmm... Maybe an excuse to go shopping in girl mode next time?

Moms can be odd things - in all the best senses of the word. I'm glad yours is there for you - even if she is making your life hard at times. :)
Don't lose who you are along the path to who you want to be.

Ummm... just some advice for next time... go as you. It's way easier... and you can try on stuff.  ;)

I go shopping with my mom quite often and it's fun. Really. The only downside is I wind up buying stuff for her.

I still can't get her to go in to VS... she dislikes their portrayal of women... and she can't stand the music in A&F when I shop there. Otherwise, she's cool with everything.

Thanks for a funny story that we can all relate to. Shopping for clothes as a kid with my mom ruined me for clothes shopping forever, pretty much. Whether boy or girl stuff, I just hate clothes shopping in stores. These days I do most of my clothes shopping online. You have to wait for days and send things back now and then, but somehow that beats the whole store-dressing-room-mirror-checkout counter process to me.

I would like to ask the same question.
I know who I am, and no one is going to tell me otherwise anymore.

Well my moms never going to accept that I'm transgender at least not anytime in the near future but when we have gone shopping together it's always been interesting my mom likes to take a picture and put it in front of my stomach can hold it up in letter when watch me I mean she likes to put not take a picture but put a shirt in front of me and then Jesus there and eyes this shirt make sure its the right color in the right frame I would be literally thrilled if my mom decide to actually go shopping with me the way I really want to go shopping
