About 8 years ago, my goal was to have a body shape, especially a thin waist, like professional models shown in various advertisements. Obsessed with it, I took many photos to compare mine with them. At glance, mine was similar to them, but looking carefully, my body looks anyway masculine.

Nowadays, I am still obsessed with a thin waist, but tend to just enjoy some fashion items outdoors with my friends, rather than taking photos.

Oh my, Barbie you have great looking legs! When I browse through the latest Victoria's Secret catalog I am immediately drawn to the fact that most of the girls being airbrushed and photoshopped with their pushups on look like 12 year olds because they don't really have any curves from the ribcage down. They are pretty much straight up and down with very little in the way of waist definition and hips although they do have good legs like your nice long stems Barbie Girl!

Yes, shantel, I noticed it in some cases. Their body is indeed more flexible or body shapes are essentially different from mine because of sexual or ethnic difference, or simply photoshopped.
My obsession is waist, not legs. Most of models have far thinner waist than me. But in any case, they have some fat in their hips and legs, while i have more muscle. Anyway, my waist is as thin as theirs, regardless of rib or hip size.

A similar photo. CK hires excellent models, and their photography skill is just extrairdinary.

Is 31 inches a thick waist?

dlee

My waist is 31in and my hips measured at 40in, I have a pretty big bottom -_- lol. That's true women come in different shapes and sizes.

I know waist isn't so important in passing, but sadly I can't help but want an attractive body. Maybe, just maybe I'll manage something someday, even if my genes say no.

Well you'd think I have a small waist when you look at me in panties and an A-shirt, my waist is 33" which seems huge however my chest measures 48" over the nipples of my naked boobs and my hips measured around the peaks of my butt is 40" so I guess it's all about visual balance. I'm really fit and trim for me but I'd really prefer to have a much more petite body, but it is what it is and we have to do the best we can with what we're given. I was a football fullback in HS, so you get the picture.

I have been told I am thick when I am wasted.  Does that count?

While all of you were talking about waistlines, i was at Romantasy Corsets in San Francisco, watching my waist get laced down properly.   Will post a compleat account of my exciting first day out in San Francisco, tomorrow !  (right now i'm ready to drop)

It's a lot of discipline though, to do waist training with a corset.  If any of you consider this, i highly recommend Romantasy to do the job right, and to follow through with you on proper nutrition, the essential companion to waist reduction.

There has been quite a bit of pros and cons about corseting in other threads; my intention is not to reopen the debate, but remind folks that this alternative not only exists, but has made many women happy :)

I saw this photo in today's news here. Actual models have somewhat uglier figures, but anyway after photoshop or sketch, they look good.

It's not pretty when they get all anorexic and their knees are the biggest part of their legs.

Yeah the ultra skinny look is not so great. I like the catalog models that show up to fashion week. They look more normal toe. Iran I know the camera adds 10 pounds but still it's like your already super slinky so they wanna air brush 20 lbs off you. Craziness

I got my best corset from them when Ann was at a conference thingy in Woburn, MA years back. It cost me 350 after a discount, but was worth it. She also gave me a lot of tips about tightening up my stomach.
