That's exactly why I switched to mornings a few years ago.  It's also nice to start the day feeling clean :)
so going to bed all dirty from the days toiling feels good? Wallowing in all that dirt?

I'm a programmer... I don't go anywhere where I could get dirty! :P
Sometimes I blog things

Of course I'm sane.  When trees start talking to me, I don't talk back.

It's better to do you hair at night and let your oils replenish before you start adding products to it and straighten it, you'll find you have way fewer split ends and healthier looking hair if you switch back to evening showers.

Me, I don't shower at night anymore because I'm too irresponsible and kept procrastinating it until it was time for bed, which, considering how my showers take me much longer than any normal person, hurt my sleep. In the morning, I can't really procrastinate this.

Once or twice a week for me, depending on what I have going on.  I don't use shampoo, and am trying to wean myself off baking soda to water only.  Saying that makes me feel a bit like a hippie, but I don't care.

2-3 times a day. More in the summer. I love taking shower, it's refreshing. Besides, I have oily skin, I need shower more often than others.

There's dirt, germs, old dead skin cells from everyone around you, etc. that you can't avoid unless you live in a bubble. But hey, if you like sleeping in that kind of stuff, fine by me.

It's more common than you'd think.  I did water only a couple years ago when I had long hair and it worked amazingly until I went somewhere with hard water.  Now I live where I used to again, so am going back to water only.  There are a few things in normal shampoo that I don't like, and after a day of not washing I already have a weird scalp smell.  That doesn't happen when I use baking soda.  I've already gone a few days without washing and my head doesn't smell like anything.  I do use a bit of tea tree oil in the baking soda mix for dandruff, and the conditioner I use is honey water with a tiny bit of white vinegar in it.  I put some chamomile essential oil in that, and that is what my hair smells like.

Question. Does anyone else feel the need to shower twice a day to keep the lady parts super clean if you know what I mean?

I generally shower everyday, but whenever I get time really.  My hours are messed up and my dad sleeps pretty close to the bathroom/there's not much hot water, so I shower whenever, but try to do it after work to stop me smelling of whatever food was floating around in the sink that day.

But isn't one of the biggest reasons for washing hair to remove oil, which water and baking soda should be very inefficient in? o.o

And uhm also. You don't wash your whole body with just water, do you? o.o

Feel the need, yes. 12 hours is more than enough for them to get yucky and smelly. But when you can't manage a shower faster than 30 minutes excluding drying up, etc. ... you just don't have the energy or patience to double the chore, and you endure the smell. Then in the morning it's -very- smelly and the shower is a big relief.

Also, not sure they can be called lady parts when they're actually gentleman parts, for me, so. :p We might not be talking about the same thing, really.

I used to shower every day... I still do if I'm going out. But it's not ideal because my skin gets so dry.

I think if showering makes your skin especially dry, the problem is not showering itself, but the details. Is your shower gel appropriate? Is your water hard? Do your moisturize properly afterwards? Is your skin well exfoliated? Etc.

Actually baking soda strips oil more than most shampoos, so you have to be really sparing with it.  Washing hair and stripping oil often causes your scalp to produce even more oils, actually, so aside from the first month or two on water only, your hair actually becomes less oily.

I have some sort of african soap that's supposed to be good for acne prone skin (it doesn't seem to work much) that I use on my back and chest, I also use soap under my arms, but not on the rest of my body... well, maybe my butt.  You're not supposed to use soap on your uh... parts... if you have a female anatomy down there... I think it's because it causes infections, but I don't remember for sure.

Salt... Uhm, isn't salt supposed to dry skin, actually? Dunno, the showers that have dried my skin so far were at my mother's, notably, where the water is hard, which means it contains a lot of mineral salts.

Usually every other day for me.  Unless I've been sweating a lot (it gets hot here in the high desert).

Just wondering... wouldn't the tea tree oil kind of ruin the point of the baking soda?

And is it kinda like a dry shampoo? I always wanted to try one but my hair never gets oily lately anyway...

Nope... it's an essential oil and dries in a non-oily way, if that makes any sense.  I know it probably doesn't, but I don't know how to describe it.  Like if you put a drop on a piece of paper, it will completely evaporate without leaving an oil spot.

It's also not a dry shampoo.  It's about a tablespoon of baking soda per cup of water to start with.  Some people say that is too much baking soda, but I usually start with that much before weaning myself to less because I am worried about it not working and don't want to wash my hair twice if it doesn't.  Then to my one cup of water/baking soda, I add two or three drops of the tea tree oil.

Corn starch (or probably other starches) can be used as a dry shampoo... but I've never tried it.  I've heard if you're darker haired you want to mix cocoa with it first.  Either way you just brush it through your hair and it's supposed to soak up oil.
