I love Slayer!  I know it's not feminine to admit that, but I am comfortable in my gender and know I am girly in many other ways. I have been playing guitar since I was a kid and will never forget trying to learn the crazy thrash rhythms that Jeff was capable of writing.  "Seasons in the Abyss" is musical masterpiece and one of the greatest albums ever produced as far as I'm concerned. Very sad to hear about what happened to him and how he spent his final days.

As I write this, I am listening to "Hell Awaits" and remembering Jeff while job searching online.  Weird combo, I know

I love Slayer too! I saw them several times, starting with opening for Mercyful Fate on the Hell Awaits tour. Jeff will be missed. He was a big part of that band.

Damn my youth...  That sounds like an amazing show.  The original incarnation of Mercyful Fate was unlike any other band.  Easily one of my favorite bands of all time.  And to see them with Slayer would be like a weird dark religious experience. I am so jealous right now.  Why couldn't I have been alive for it?  Damn you 85-86.
