So I know this topic has been done before but which topic hasn't? I just wanted to say you definitely shrink on HRT. I have been hyper-aware of my height since, well, forever. I was 5'6.25 and 5'7 in the morning pre-HRT. I just measured myself and I have marks on the wall from where I measured myself before and I am now only 5'5. That's a whole inch. An Inch! I know a lot of people say this isn't possible but I am 100 percent sure I've shrunk. I'm only 30 so it is not age. Thirty year olds do not shrink. Unless they are on HRT apparently. I hear some other girls saying they lost two inches in height. So at this rate I will shrink to 5'4. Ack! That's super tiny. In some respects I'm kinda excited since it means the HRT is doing its thang. One question I have though is where am I losing the height from? If I have to lose height I want it to be in my torso. That would be GREAAAT! It just feels funny since I even considered to get limb surgery to be taller and now I am shrinking and I just don't care. Weird.

Pretty sure it's just posture, Jo. I thought I lost an inch, but it turned out to be just that. Chest thrust out, pelvis rotated a bit, standing shorter. With my back against the wall, I'm back to my amazon 6'0". :(
Don't lose who you are along the path to who you want to be.

There ya go, I fixed that for ya!

I thought I had shrunk today then I realized the guy next to me was just 7ft tall so I'm still the same height!

I'm telling ya it's not posture. I am standing up straight with my back against the wall. I kept measuring myself expecting to get a different result and I am standing up as straight as I can. I do yoga so my posture is really good and I'm pretty limber. I don't slouch and I naturally try to be tall as possible. Understand, I'm not bragging and I don't want to shrink. I'd rather grow. Losing some torso length is appealing but other then that, I do not want to shrink. Like I said, I am hyper-aware of my height and in the past I bought shoes in order to increase my height and wore lifts in them, so I measured myself all the time. Nobody has to believe me lol but it is happening.

EDIT: I wouldn't believe me if I read this thread lol perhaps it is because I slept in some weird position and compressed my spine? Only thing I can think of.

Now this is an exciting subject!!!  I hadn't checked my height in ages but after reading this thread couldn't resist. So with the help of my wife, I did a very rigourous measurment using a mason's level (still some male in me apparently  ;)) to insure everything was correctly aligned.

Result? Well the intitial post had me thinking that starting from a little over 6', I should be getting close to 5'6" by now.  Reality?  Total disaster, failure, despair.... in spite of my advanced age and close on 5 years HRT, it would be very hard to say that I have lost any height, maybe 0.5 cm ie. about 0.2 inches  from the initial 6' something.
Hell, life is just so unfair... :'(

It actually has been proven that most people do shrink about an inch to two inches and the reason why is the effects of testosterone on the disks in your spine. Testosterone for one reason or another causes a higher pressure in the disks so they expand more. As the testosterone levels in your blood decrease so does the pressure in the disks, less pressure in the end means you end up loosing about an inch to two inches depending on your individual body.

Hope that helps some.

I hope this works for me as last time I was measured(right before starting hrt) I believe I was 5'10 to 5'11 and I want to be shorter so I can wear heels and not feel like She-Hulk(have enough of that with mood swings)

Thanks! This makes a lot of sense. I measured myself again today and I am the same height as yesterday. Maybe a millimeter taller.

Btw, EmeraldPerpugilliam, 5'10 isn't that tall. Women come in all shapes and sizes and they still wear heals.

True but I have only seen a few cisfemales taller then myself both in heels and not in heels. I guess it is me not wanting to draw too much attention to myself.

Thanks though for pointing that out, I do tend to forget it sometimes :)
