Starbuck0507

Hello all!

I just wanted to quickly introduce myself.  You can just call me Starbuck (and if you know where that's from you probably think I'm a total nerd, and you're absolutely right.  And if you DON'T know where it's from...well Google it!  Go ahead, I'll wait...  ;)).

I recently moved in with my gf, Brooke777, who's a regular on this forum.  She encouraged me to join and avail myself of the SO resources on the site, as well as in order to get a better sense of the world of ->-bleeped-<-.  I've been out as bi for several years, but this is the first time I've dated anyone who was trans AND the first time I've lived with a woman (though it's definitely not my first serious homosexual relationship).

It's true that dating someone who's transgender and pre-op--and who started transitioning before you met her--can have its own unique challenges, and I'm looking forward to meeting both other trans people who can help give me different perspectives on things and other SOs who understand what it's like to be in my shoes.  I'm also a die-hard career woman from a family who never speaks, and the gf has a really close-knit family and a child so I'm suddenly being thrown into being a part time parent and trying to fit myself into a family role at the same time as I'm adjusting to being in love with someone who's transgender.  I think both of us are looking forward to the extra support that this forum will be able to give us as a couple in the same way it's already helped the gf so much.

Hoping to get to know all of you!

Sometimes when life is a fight - we just have to fight back and say screw you - I want to live.

Sometimes we just need to believe.

Hi Starbuck, welcome to the forum!  :icon_wave:

Starbuck as in the guy in Moby Dick or Battlestar Galactica? However though, I would love a Green Tea Frappuccino  ;D

Hi Starbuck, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 11187. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another SO.

And be sure to check out these links ( MUST READS )
