The Middle Way

There was one supernal soul in Lord Yeshua and St Mary Magdalene, he the male and she the female emanation of one soul of Light. Hence, it is said that they were soul mates. So it is with every supernal soul, for all human souls were in the supernal Human Being. Thus, when the Holy One divided the Human One into male and female counterparts, all holy souls were also divided into male and female counterparts, which are destined to meet and unite with one another in the cycles of transmigration.

from the Sophian Gospel of St Mary Magdalene. Found in a book called The Secret Gospel of Mary Magdalene.

This is exactly the same story at the root of the Hindu religion, which is the root of Buddhism, by the way.

blew me away today, I have been suspecting as much, since I found out about this Gnostic business.

Quoteall holy souls were also divided into male and female counterparts, which are destined to meet and unite with one another in the cycles of transmigration.

I don't like that at all as it means not even suicide is a way out of this hell.

Interpreted:
You have been made male and will thusly be made throughout all time as you reincarnate... life after life after life after life....

That genuinely, well and truely, sucks.
Not only does it suck, it sucks infinitely.

Well it also means (and this, to me, is the very same thing): that not even birth processes are a way out of this heaven.

Go into the Light my child.

I am going to interpret this the only way I know how

he the male and she the female emanation of one soul of Light.

You have a being emminating matched pairs.
A = { (x1, y1) , (x2, y2) , (x3, y3) ,..., (xn, yn) }

Where each pair (xn, yn) is called the "Soul of Light"

x being male
y being female

in regards to the subscript (1, 2, 3...)
iff (if and only if) the subscript matches, the pair xn, yn, are a soulmates.

This by definition means there is no such thing as (xn, xn) or (yn, yn).
In other words, it is, according to this definition, impossible for two men to be soulmates.
It is likewise, impossible for two women to be soulmates.

This is implicite in the following, "he the male and she the female emanation of one soul of Light. Hence, it is said that they were soul mates."

Incontravertable Fact: genetically, I am male.

Thus, when the Holy One divided the Human One into male and female counterparts, all holy souls were also divided into male and female counterparts, which are destined to meet and unite with one another in the cycles of transmigration.

This, to me means, you were divided from your soulmate. You are male, therefore your soulmate is female. You are destined to meet your female couterpart time and time again.

By definition, this means that I am made male and will always be male forever and ever and ever until I am out of "the cycles of transmigration"

Personally, It is perferrable to me that I cease to exist in any form forever.

Another corralary to this is:
*I* am only half a "soul of light"

In other words, I will never be complete, because I am genetically male, without a girl.

So, this, if accepted at face value means:
1. I am forever and always male.
2. I have to be partnered with some female somewhere.

Failure to do 2 means I will never be complete.

Yup, I would rather not exist.

Your fallacy derives from one fact: the statement you are interpreting makes absolutely no reference to genetics.

none of the above/all of the above

or: x and y combinatorially in perpetuity.
  •

Jessica

I see that point.

What is meant by the following:
Quoteall holy souls were also divided into male and female counterparts

It is from this that I derived the following:

Each holy soul was divided into two parts.
One Male (XY)
One Female (XX)

I guess, from the language, I derived that it was a genetic male and a genetic female.

Any soul that was not divided into this combination was Not holy.

Oh yeah, I got that.

There is no implication in there that <all souls are not equal to the supposition of holiness>, that I can see right now anyway. What I am seeing is that all souls are equally divisable by this arithmetic. And that when you do the proof of the division, you arrive at One.

Is it the connotation of a term like 'souls' with one or more religions that are having difficulty getting along, even with themselves? That, to me, is a kind of throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
