Two local branches of the Labour Party (of which I'm a member) have nominated me as their candidate for the role of Equalities Officer in the forthcoming Executive Committee elections. Last year I lost by a couple of votes coming second. 

A customer who called into support yesterday wrote back today with glowing praise for the way I helped her resolve her issue. We in support rarely get people who write back with thank, and this particular user was really grateful!

The dishwasher is running, all the dishes that needed to be cleaned by hand are drying, the counters and cupboards are wiped, and all the components of the stove are scrubbed. It may not be much, but it still feels good to accomplish something.

Today is my birthday, I had some money returned that had been taken by someone in this hostel & I went to see Star Trek in 3D yesterday.
Best of all though is that my mum used my new name on my card 

Some girls were questioning if I was a girl or a guy, and for someone who really doesn't pass(or try to yet), it made me quite happy.

It's the start of the weekend, I'm drinking an absolutely divine bloody mary, and my new boyfriend is on his way over. I'm a very, very happy girl.

Got both mine and my brother's yards mowed and weedeatered this afternoon after work. So now I don't have to fool with it on my two days off.

Made a $100 cash finding and fixing an electrical short in a neighbor's house today. I told him he didn't need to pay that much, but he insisted, so...

And I can finally afford to get some new shoes and jeans this coming week too. The same neighbor is going to go into town with me and we'll spend some time shopping and have lunch. He wants to look at some countertops too.

Went to the pharmacy to pick up my latest prescription... and it turns out that the assistant who served me has a daughter who is dating an FtM!

She was absolutely lovely, so I gave her the URL for Susan's to pass on to her daughter's boyfriend. She says he gets a lot of flak from intolerant people so I thought he could use a friendly community.

Received emails from two cousins today. Both congratulating me on my new life. This surprised me as they are both manly men. But it totally made my day.   

I really like myself today. I mean, I like myself everyday, but today is one of those days where I feel extra confident about it. Like no one can take that away from me. I'm exactly (or almost exactly, but everyone has things they want to fix) who I want to be.

The builder who is currently working on refurbishing our offices (and who has met me in person several times) just referred to me in an email as 'the IT man'.

My son is pretending to be a puppy. Excuse me, while I gush. He is so cute!

Somehow I seem to forget that you have a son until you mention him, Victor. Not sure why. =/

I've been chatting with other Army Brats on Facebook and its been amazing.

Pokemon Tower Defense! I forgot all about it for like...a year. I was obsessed with it, as well as Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, but then I met Keairaface and we chatted every night and I sorta forgot about them entirely.
