Sleeping a full eight hours last night.
Waking up this morning in a room drenched in bright sunlight.
Picking up my brand new passport with a photo that shows me as I am now, a woman.
An hour's roller-blading on a paved track through a forest alive with spring colors and sunshine.
A long chat with my son on the phone and agreement that we would meet up when my eldest daughter has her first child a few weeks from now, my first grandchild.
A very leisurely lunch on the terrace with my wife and our beautiful little cat.
Playing with the same little cat this evening. She sometimes let's her wild feline nature get the better of her & claws can hurt...but it's so much fun!
Revisiting the series "The L World" with my wife this evening. Loved it before and even more now...

All things considered a pretty good day with lots to be happy about

I found my ring that's been lost for 3 months! It fell into a drawer that I hardly ever open!
I feel so much more complete now.

I got a ton of comments on the shirt I wore today!  This is all that was on it:

I heard back from the speech therapist in our area who works with Transgender women. I have an appointment for an evaluation in two weeks. Yay!

I got called "Warrior Princess" by Mia Macy today when I told her I was going to go to Washington DC to Lobby for ENDA.

Heh, who'd have thought I would do something political. And I hung out in Hangouts with Caleb as usual. I can't wait to see him!

This morning, we're another step closer to legalising same-sex marriage (and opposite-sex civil partnership) in the UK. The final vote in the House of Commons will take place tonight and it is likely to pass.

If it does, we just need to get it through the House of Lords tomorrow (which is more difficult) before it can become law.

They're also voting today on an amendment which would enable Humanist celebrants to hold weddings throughout the UK. At the moment, Humanist ceremonies are only fully legal in Scotland; everyone else needs to have their Humanist marriage made legal through a register office.
