Okay, Here's the deal.

I appear to be male until you get to my head. I have a very pretty/girly face and having long hair adds to that.  :embarrassed:

I've been thinking about packing, Is It really a good Idea? Like, Does It make a big difference? My friend suggested I should try buying male boxers and stuff It and see If It makes me feel more confident but..

The fact that I still look female, I'm not sure If It's a good Idea or not.  ???

Also, If I were to pack, Can someone give me Ideas on how to do that without using a packer, I think they're.. Ehhh, They gross me out.  :-X

Besides, My mother Is.. Well, She accepts that I'm trans but doesn't want to hear about It. My father and I currently aren't speaking so I really need help.

I'm thinking It's not worth the bother because I wear slightly baggy pants anyway so, I'm just wondering should or shouldn't It.

Can anyone give me some advice/tips and even personal experiences? Thanks.
See that dull, plain, dusty book? The one sitting In the library.
The one no one touches? The one everyone Ignores?

That book has many amazing adventures.
Yet no one takes the time to know.

Never judge a book by It's cover.

Packing can be a different experience for everyone, some guys really like it and some guys don't. It's something you have to try for yourself. I really don't like to think about what is in my pants so I thought that packing would help, but for me it just makes me realise how wrong it is even more :( I feel like my packer is too big and that it doesn't sit right or feel right. So most of the time, packing makes me feel worse. If you want to try it but you dont want to buy a packer, you could try using a sock and shaping it right. Or cut a finger off of a glove and fill it with cotton or something more suitable.

It could change the way you walk and sit REALLY a lot. I tried 'packing' with a sock a few times, and I immediately had a much more convinceable male gait.
But I never went out with it, for the same reason as you, I'm afraid people will see something is 'wrong', etc. I really have to work up my confidence :s and as if low confidence in general wasn't bad enough, is it also a really female trait! :<

But I'd say just try it out with a sock or some other thing (experiment a bit which gives the 'right' shape. You shouldn't feel like you have a hard one all the time, lol, nor like there's nothing there.

I agree from above, some you can try and play about when at home and see if you like it or feel comfortable with.

For me, there is a certain comfort in packing. It just feels like i'm more complete. Having said that though, i'll go months without packing adn not miss it, yet I have friends and know people who feel they must pack, every day, in the same way they must bind every day. It has more to do with how you feel.

I think your friend's right in suggesting you give it a shot, because you may find you really like it. I would not get boxers though... Boxer briefs are the way to go, especially when you're new to packing, because the boxer-briefs hold everything in place way easier than boxers. If I wear my boxers I have to wear tight jeans, just to keep my bits from slipping and making me look like i've got a boner  :embarrassed:

So pop out, get yourself some nice, well fitting boxer-briefs (walmart's great, and cheap) and then I'd give it a go. You don't need to drop money on anything fancy. I had a friend who used two condoms filled with lube. Not the safest mind you, I was always terrified for him that it would begin to leak, but you can go that route for a quick cheap way to try it, of you can also just roll up some socks in the general length and width and give that a go. That's what I did to start, but it didn't suit me, so I didn't do it again. I ended up just splurging and buying an stp.

Also, when you adjust everything right, and have a good size (start small!) you can make it so you virtually don't look like your packing. I'm in dress pants right now, wearing boxer briefs and I've adjusted so I don't have anything noticeable bulge at all. So even if you are packing, if you go with a small size (4-5 inches) don't expect your mom to notice and she shouldn't. If you are walking around and you have an obviously noticeable bulge, your doing it wrong and the cops might be escorting you soon.

Also, don't feel like you have to pack, to fit into the 'ftm mold'. There's no such thing and it's silly to try and make one. If you don't want to pack, don't pack. Not everyone has dysphoria with that area and that's fine. It does not make you any less of a man.

PS: If you are modest with your size (again smaller is better till you get the hang of it) and someone is looking at you and see's something 'wrong' and calls you on it, I feel you have every right to introduce them to your fist. After all, why are they staring at your groin in public? It's the same issue with the urinal, us guys get afraid another man, havin a pee, is going to look over and see it's a fake. As far as I know, in the 'guy world', if a guy's looking at your junk in the restroom you're either in a gay bar or you own that guy a punch, or at the very least a 'come at me bro' stance. So don't worry. Seriously, no one is going to notice because no one should be staring at your crotch trying to determine if you've got something down there.

The other guys have covered all of the "trying it out" part, I just wanted to say that I pack three quarters of the time and no one notices and everyone who knows me still thinks I'm female. At first I was nervous of people seem and wouldn't leave my room with it on, now I spend all week with him on. He's called Perry the Penis.

Really? I actually would like to pack, even if it's just to try it out, but I'm slightly nervous my mom/dad/friends would notice and think "WTF!?" or something, lol.
But from what I hear now it's very well possible to pack and go unnoticed that you do it!
Then also something, how do you know whether you're doing it right? How big does the bulge have to be? (I obviously don't glare at guy's groin's to check how 'big their bulges are', LOL!)

Wow first of all, Thanks guys for all the awesome replies. I appreciate It a lot.

@Harlee: Good Advice, Thanks.

@Erik: I have been told I sit and walk like a man when I was In the closet so that would be Interesting! Having low confidence, I would say.. Is a genderless trait really, Look at some of the softer, more sensitive guys, They seem to have low confidence. It's just more active In females.

@Rexy: Thanks for the reply. :)

@Bastian: Yes! That's why I'm considering It, Not to look like more of a man but to feel completely, You described It exactly. Boxer-briefs! That's what I mean lol, Pardon me. That's my next wonder.. STP's.. They Interest me however I never use a public bathroom so It wouldn't be that Important.

I'm far from that FtM mold which.. Sometimes I feel Isn't a good thing but other times, I like being different. It's not that I don't want my mom to know It's just.. Like for example. "Hey mom, Can you help me? I want to do this things In my pants with this and..." -- Just, Kinda.. Awkward.  :-X

Yeah! Why would someone be looking at my groin, Lol! Thanks for taking the time to write all this man.  ;D

@Alex: Aw.. Well, If perry makes you more comfortable then F what others say. :P

I feel like packing would feel weird, but as it's been said, how do you know if it's for you until you try?

Given, I'm very far away from that point right now, but maybe my opinion on it will change, and maybe I'll feel compelled to try it at some point.

You can stare just make sure to do an eyebrow wiggle and a come hither look (being able to run fast helps too) to follow it up. Lol in all seriousness though. Everyone always says 'to the left', 'to the right', 'up', 'down'. Honest to goodness it's like everything else. it's preference. I position myself up and to the left. This keeps the bulge almost unnoticeable, allows me to ride my horse comfortable, keeps me from appearing to be aroused and it stays put! I know people though who position it in many other manners. Find what's comfortable. That's the secret!

You are very welcome Black Bird. Even if you buy an stp or a packer, just cause you own it doesn't mean you need to use it all the time. Do what you want! My parents are totally supportive of me, I still don't go up to my mom and say "hey how does my packer look? Am I popping out of my boxers too much?" that would be a bit awkward lol. Just look at yourself in the mirror (head on and at the sides) to determine if you've got too much happening. Honestly, unless you're sprung in your pants, no one looks. If they do you can give them the eyebrow wiggle and come hither look mentioned above.

Edit on Walking and Sitting: A packer helps. It's weird but makes sense. Guys walk the way they do because they have stuff between there legs. Sitting with their legs wide open? It's cause of their junk. The shoulder width stride? it's because of their junk. So when you wear a packer, you now have stuff between your legs too and sitting cross legged and walking tight is uncomfortable. Think of the packer as a spacer between ones legs. You will walk different and sit different because not to do so is uncomfortable. That being said, don't feel you have to have one to accomplish these things. I walk and sit 'like a man' even when  i'm not packing. The packer just helps, think of your balls like training wheels for your pants.

There are different reasons to pack. some people pack only to get the bulge in their pants. Others pack to help their walk, etc. And others pack to help with dysphoria. Others do not pack for many reasons too. Another thing is how often. For awhile I only packed at bedtime. Some people feel they must pack 100% of the time and feel sort of naked without it, and others don't pack at all. There is no right answer, and no answer that is not "trans enough".

I sometimes pack and very discretely so no one really know I'm packing. I have packed so that you'd know it only to go to support groups. It's easy to adjust, imo, how visible or not it will be.

It's ok to try this if you don't pass. I don't pass too often. And pack at times. Pack small. (I feel the Sailor is really easy to do discretely, more so than the Mr. Limpy, but I think that's a personal preference. I use the Reel Magik Basic packer. I would not get this unless you know you like packing.)

People pack for different reasons and if it's helpful to someone then that's awesome and they should continue to do so.

If you don't feel the need to pack though, and are only curious about it because other guys do it, I wouldn't bother trying it honestly. Unless you wear really tight pants, no one is going to notice. I've never packed and it's never prevented me from passing. I wear straight leg jeans, not tight but not baggy and they just look normal.

If you want to pack just to have that bulge, you can find jeans that looks like you already have something down there  :D I have jeans that I think it's so obvious there's nothing in it and I was so convinced that everybody will notice it, but no one gives a ->-bleeped-<- about it. Still I feel more comfortable in the ones that have that look.

I actually would want no to hardly no bulge, because, like I said, I'm not out yet. And people will ask questions if they found out :s
I'm thinking of buying a cheap starter packer someday, if I can get it ordered and delivered without my parents opening the package and snooping into it. Lol.
I would personally pack for my own feel of 'wholeness' not of having a big 'I-am-excited' bulge (well, that is totally wrong anyway, lol ::))
Socks constantly slide around though, and it would be... ehm... funny to have your 'dick' wiggle down your trousers XD so anyone got any advice on that?

I don't always pack, and you don't see a bulge on cis guys unless they are in speedos or really tight bottoms.  :D
I only pack cos it makes me feel more confident, i sometimes where spiderman suit for cosplay so i pack for that, and or if im going somewhere where im in the risk of being groped or rubbed against.

Eveyone is different.

Here are some photos with me wearing my packer in various trousers, but they were taken the day I got it and I can hide it better now.

You can safety pin socks to your underwear to stop them wriggling around.

I think with normal trousers you appear as any other guy.  With the loose boxers you do appear that you have a large package. This is something we each have figure out what work for use, don't want to look like you have a hard on all the time.

It just looks that way because the XS Mr Limpy doesn't like to lay down of it's own accord, once there's something pushing it down like trousers it's fine.  People who wear briefs or tighter underwear probably wouldn't get that effect at all either.
