I want to show you all a piece of my writing. It's taken from the current story that i'm writing. I'm hoping to get it published someday once i've finished it, so the main two pointers i'm looking for is if you like what you read and if it leaves you wanting to read more afterwards?

"It was going on almost 7pm by the time I reached home. Leon's car was back on the driveway as if it had never moved. At least it's an indication that Leon got home safely last night. I approached the front door and took a deep breath before making my way inside.
The house felt still as if nobody was home, even though the door was unlocked and both the hall light and the kitchen light were on.
"Leon?" I called. There was no answer. "Leon, it's me!" I called again.
Movement came from the kitchen and Leon appeared at the kitchen door, coming towards me. His fist was the last thing I saw before it came into contact with the left hand side of my face. The impact was so forceful that only the front door behind me stopped me from falling.
"Why didn't you tell me you was a slayer!?" Leon shouted.
I looked up from holding my head where he hit me. The area of skin throbbed, which in turn brought on an intense headache. I looked back at Leon and saw nothing but anger in those hazel coloured eyes of his.
"I didn't think it was important enough, ok?" I replied matching the same angered tone as Leon's.
He grabbed me by the collar of my jumper and pressed me up against the door. "How can you think anything like that isn't important enough!?" He clenched his teeth as he said it. The smell of alcohol was strong on his breath.
Why's he so angry about it? "And would it have changed anything if I had?" I shouted back.
Leon seemed to pause before he answered, as if trying to find the right words to reply with. "I wouldn't have let you anywhere near me if I'd known!" he backed off me and stood in the hallway.
"I never thought it would be such a problem! I never thought it would get to this! I always thought if I never told anyone, it would be ok. I wasn't expecting you to find out." I said.
"Oh, so that was your plan, eh? Never even crossed your mind to let me know?" Leon started shouting again. He came up close towards me and I flinched, expecting him to hit me again. But he didn't.
"I was THIS close to being killed last night!" he showed me a little gap between his index finger and his thumb. "And when you didn't come home I thought you were dead! I didn't know if I was going to see you again!"
"And when I do come home, you lay physical abuse onto me! I saved your ass last night in case you'd forgotten!" I argued back. "It seems I can't do right at all!" and I escaped the atmosphere to go upstairs and I hid myself away in my room.
My head began to spin and felt really faint and sick, so I lay on my bed. I wanted to cry. He's never hit me before. He gets drunk sometimes and he can get aggressive, but he's never physically hurt me like that before.
He hates me, he hates what I am. But if I leave, where do I go? Back to the streets? I don't want to go back to that again. I kinda wish that I'd not come home now. Being in the hands of a vampire sounds like the best option to have taken right now. Who knows what Elnathan will do to me when he finds out I'm not at Zena's. I'd go back, but I don't remember the address she lives at. It's just going from bad to worse and I can't seem to find a way out of this.
If only I had stopped that vampire from taking Leon in the first place. It's my entire fault. I could have stopped it when I had the chance but I was too chicken-wuss. Why can't I get anything right in this world?
Leon came to stand in my bedroom doorway. As I saw him I turned around so I didn't have to look at him. Hopefully he'll take it as a hint that I don't want to talk to him right now. I felt him sit on the bed and his hand touched my shoulder.
"Nathan..."
I shrugged him off. I just want to be by myself. I need time to think about things. I can't do that while he's in my face.
Leon put his hand on my shoulder again and this time applied force, forcing me to turn onto my back to face him.
His brown eyes were all watery. "Nathan... I'm sorry." He said, he sounded like he meant it too. "I shouldn't have hit you."
What's he want me to do, accept his apology? Just like that? I don't think so. "Too right, you shouldn't have hit me." "

Well, when i get it all finished i'm thinking about putting a chapter a month through my site. Not exactly sure on a structure to that yet, whether people will have to sign up for it, or just post it on there.... The idea is still under construction.

So, keep posted and i'll let you know when! ^.^

Hi,

i found it interesting. I think the writing is clean. There weren't any distracting flourishes which must be tempting to go for with a plot of this kind.  I also found myself flinching when Leon hit Nathan and for a while after, I was afraid he'd do it again.

  Good work.
