Ever seem like every single part of transition is a royal p.i.t.a.? Sometimes I think they do it to us on purpose. Kinda like, "If you're going to be a transsexual there's not much we can do about it...but we are going to make it as annoying as possible", lol.

I opened my new vial today for my shot and noticed the refill date. It says I can refill my Rx five times BY October of this year. I thought that was strange but obviously a mistake on the pharmacy's behalf so gave them a call. Nope, they said it was right. Since T is a controlled substance prescriptions are only good for six months. I understand their position and I'm sure they're just following the FDA's regulations but it doesn't coincide with my usage.

Now I either have to visit the Endo more (which costs $218 per visit now and that is just the office fee/no labs) OR see if the pharmacy will let me buy all the vials at once and just store them in a safe place until I need them. I don't see any difference in them sitting in my sock drawer or on the pharmacy shelf. As long as the expiration stays in date...but then again where I go has the brown vials (to keep sunlight out I assume) so you can't see the liquid until you draw it out (I'm thinking what if there are crystals or something in it).  ::)

Oh, and the last thing is I'm an idiot (no surprise there) and in between moving across country at some point I lost the Court Order for my name change (in all fairness, it is easy to lose a piece of paper in 11 years) sooooo I call the Courthouse in Colorado where I had it done in 2002. They have no record of it. :o My current State will need a copy of it next year when I get my birth certificate changed. Does this mean I'm going to have to get another name change in the current State I am in? Am I even legally Simon in this State without the proof from the other State? Even if my license and everything has been Simon for 11 years now?!?

Oy Vey...

I know my doctor just writes a new prescription for me "without" an office visit.

Now the court order, I'll ask the stupid question :} you did give them both the Old and New name to check under, right?

Ugh, I feel for you with the name change paperwork, wish I had some advice. I hate how so much weight is placed on an easily lost piece of paper. I know it's just a matter of time before I misplace my car title or my DD-214.

I'm doing my name change right now, and the court advises getting something like 20 certified copies of the official order. So I guess if they do find it, try to get them to make some certified copies for you so you can have a few to spare

I'm going to email my Endo and see what she wants me to do. She likes to see me in person before she authorizes anything. If she doesn't care and the pharmacy will let me I'll probably just buy it all at once and have enough for a couple years at home. That way I'll only have to see the doc every six to eight months like she has me scheduled now.

Yep, I had them check under Simon and my birth name.

That is a great idea! If they do happen to find it, I'm going to pay a little extra to have them do just that.

wheat thins are delicious

I'd find a new doctor that is willing to write a script when you need it.

That would be ideal if there was one in my area willing to work with a trans patient. I'm her only trans patient and she sees me because it was set up between her and my hysto surgeon (who was my gyno).

Without her I have the option to drive an hour South to see a doctor or over two hours East. That is it for my State. There's not much here for transguys at all.

Your name change is there .... do you know what court you were heard in ... some its family court...some its civil court ... that is the court you need to contact for a new copy of your name change...or if you can contact your bank or some place you gave them a copy of your name change - they would have the court case number on the paper and then you can use that court case number to track it down in the court hosue

I was 19 or so then and didn't have a bank account or anything in my name.

I remember the County I was in and that is the Court House I contacted. No idea if it was family or Civil Court. I went into a room with a lot of other people and they called us up one by one to hear our cases. I was sworn in, asked if I had any outstanding debts I was trying to avoid, and asked why I was changing my name. I said I was transgender and was changing it to reflect my gender identity. The judge said order granted and handed me a paper. I then had to run a notice in a local paper of my name change for three weekends. That's what I remember.
