When I do go full time/come out to everyone I will have to change companies for sure. I work with about 5 family members. Over the years they have let it be known that if they even knew someone was gay, they would find an excuse to fire them. Which is highly illegal and unethical. Since I'm in california, they technically can't fire me for my gender identity. But, they will probably fire me for some other miniscule thing. The worst thing about it is, I'm great at my job. I love the people at the company a great deal. If I could, I would retire with the comapny. But, its the few bigots that are ruining it for me. They just happen to be my family members on top of it.It is still something that is holding my progress back.

That's unfortunate! You might just gather any awards and written commentary by your employers and document things from here on out as kind of a "what if" preemptory move just in case you need a little leverage in the future, as in worst case scenario, with documentation they might see their way clear to award a substantial severance if they feel it's necessary to terminate you. CYA!

I am a night auditor at a hotel. It is a near to no work, but pays close to minimum :/

Fortunately I live in very tourist spot, where the hotels business is constantly looking for people with experience so even if I get fired then finding another job would be a peace of cake

I'm way ahead of you on that front. About 6 months ago, I had a written job offer from a different company. In-turn, my current company gave me a written offer to match. (35% raise  ) They also stated in the letter the reason for my promotion and raise being that I have done an exceptional job since I was hired 5 years ago. They also took it upon themselves to announce to the company ,via E-mail, that I was a prime example of how they want to promote from within the company. It was a big deal because I was going from fabrication to design. An unheard of promotion in our company history. I also plan to come out just after a review that I have coming up in about 3 months. Thank you for the suggestion Auntie Shan, but I am already doing it! hehe

I work at a Hospital, all design work is through consultants and PE stamped.

I have a feeling most of the Transg* are FTM. I would estimate 90% female employees.  Females are in leadership and males are in subordinate roles, with the exception of 2 departments.

I'm a high school teacher currently working in the fields of Theatre and English. I also write novels.

I'm an english customer service rep/internet sales/said website manager..kind of.. for an aftermarket LED company in Korea. The only native English speaker in the whole company, so I'm the person people talk to from around the world. I have a feeling I'm going to have to quit when THAT time comes.

I'm a former independent property claims adjuster and worked for three companies and their client companies simultaneously. Right now I would be headed for Moore, Oklahoma. I enjoyed helping people put their lives back together.

I have to disagree with you there. It's hard to find passion in something that a billboard does just as well. In fact, billboards are better because they're full time 24/7. On a positive note though, I got a new job making camping equipment for a small, locally owned business! I make sooooo much more money there than I used to at my old job. I can now actually afford my transition. :')
