Hi to everyone!

I'm not good at introducing myself at all, but here goes.

So my name's Vera, as the username suggests. I've known for a long that I've been a woman at heart, but it's only fairly recently that I've begun walking down the road of transition. It's been amazing that my wife has stayed at my side during the opening stages, and is my biggest cheerleader! We've become much closer as a result, and both have discovered things about ourselves in the process. Things that have only strengthened our love for each other.

:p Flowery talk aside, I haven't begun much more than seeking out support networks, and looking into doctors and such. I'm planning to take this road until I feel on the outside as I do on the inside. The only hurdle I can see in the foreseeable future, aside from the usual, is I am a business owner, and as the face behind the counter, I imagine it could be a bit jarring for my customers.

But anyway, hi!

Hi Vera, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 11343. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister.

And be sure to check out these links ( MUST READS )

From experience with a business owner that has transitioned. The most relevant factor is how you present yourself. If you present as female those that interact with you will perceive you as female. If you are undecided they will perceive that. I encourage you to make a decision, that you will present to the 'outside' what you want them to perceive. Once you do that, they will accept it, regardless of how 'you' perceive yourself. If you present as female your outside surroundings will perceive you as female and vice-versa.

I wish yo the best,
ChristyB.
