thanks for your message. i don´t want to be missunderstood. this posting wasn´t meant as advertising the clinic i work in. i just want to give anybody the opportunity to talk to a physician in the forum, or to ask questions concerning medical/operative issues since we have a lot of experience with srs. ftm (phalloplasty) as well as mtf.

The clinic is well known and has a good reputation among FtM's. Check out the prices for bottom surgery if you want to be grateful for being MtF at some point :/

dear susan,

the costs for mtf surgery are appr. 28.800 euros (incl. breast augmentation). i am well aware of the high costs,but one has to keep in mind that the all the surgical procedures are being performed in one step. the operation fees also cover any correction surgery within one year. with over 350 performed operations there are very low complication rates though.
ingermany these costs are mostly covered by the medical insurances.

Ftm as well as MtF is being performed...

I think that it is great to have a doctor posting here.  The site looks wonderful, I just wished I could afford surgery.  Unfortunately the U.S. insurance companies mostly do not cover SRS and a most of those that do still leave it up to the person to pay everything up front.

As a child of German immigrants I'd like to say, Guten Tag!  Es ist aber wunderbar dass sie mit information zu uns kommen.  But, since I'm more comfortable in English, I'll stay in that mode:  Thanks for offering to answer our questions.

Can you perhaps describe the current social and cultural attitudes towards transgendered people in Germany, as opposed to those in the US?  I have relatives (aunts, uncles and cousins, mostly) in Germany and am wondering how they might react to the news of a gender transformation.
