Hi everyone!

I was just wondering of anyone has experience with some other mundane hair removal treatments other than laser/electrolysis?

Like nair or nono. I am in now rush to terminate evil hairs since they have not matured fully and would be satisfied with a long term offensive.

Thanks!

I never liked the chemical means, they always burned me (now I may be sensitive). If you are thinking of face they really are not meant for the face. Even the face creams that I know of for the face the bleaching creams are not meant for maab facial hairs they are meant for finer hairs.

The Things I found good for removing other hairs like body were

epilator: Braun silk-epil 7280 not sure if they still make that model but they probably make a similar  one, this really was the option I chose for me for my body  the most often,it made me pass the best

razors: always buy extreme quality always use hot water and good cream shower first

Can always try waxing or threading as well.

Nair no thanks freaking stinks and you can really irritate the skin.

Always test Nair and similar products because you can become sensitive to them over time.

NEVER use then anywhere near your eyes. They will blind you. They work by 'burning' hair off with alkaline chemical and the eyes are exquisitely  sensitive to alkali conditions. It kills then straight away.

Even if you hate testicles I wouldn't use them on them either unless you are into agony. :embarrassed:

Epilators as said, and when you start AA you should start to develop female hair growth patterns, it takes a while to be noticed though as the hair growth cycle takes 6-8 weeks in humans (my first scientific publication addressed that 30+ years ago!!! Heee Heee) and the cycle takes three or four cycles to be noticed. It is slowly progressive not instant.

I did find waxing to be very easy, I went to a salon, they are totally completely accepting and have no concerns about waxing 'guys' before I passed. Many cis guys wax often, as has been mentioned many times.

To that end,  most woman I know prefer their guys hairless, at least in most parts of their bodies, and encourage and in some cases demand their guys to get waxed.

Hairy legs?  OK, chest -- no.  Back? no way. So they all get waxed.

Oh and I have also found woman talk about their men in pretty open ways to each other!!!!!

So women have no problems in going for a wax.

I can help with this - I've tried alot of things to remove my facial hair but now I'm saving for laser as I know it has to be the only solution to hair free face!  ;D

Plucking/Tweezing - Depending on how coarse & dense your facial hair is, you might be able to get away with using a pair of tweezers to pluck out the hairs. I did this often when I was younger, always hated my facial hair - it''s realively pain free and easy to do. Not practical if you have thick & dense hair though. Leaves some redness and means hair may grow back alittle quicker.

Gutto Ant Egg Hair Removal Cream'e - I'm using this atm, it's got a lovely smell and the tub looks like it'll last a while! Fairly expensive though at £14.99 plus P+P. All you need to do is apply this AFTER the hair removal process by tweezing/waxing/hair removal cream'e. Rub the cream'e into your face for a good 5-10 minutes and leave on. This is a natural product so no nasty smells or chemical burns etc.
I've only had it a few days but it does seem to slow the growth of hair that's been plucked out - I'm not buying another though as it takes upto 6 months to become truly effective. I'm saving for laser as said before.

Waxing - Some guys do get facial beard waxing, but it looks very painfull! I havn't tried this method myself, infact I've never even waxed my legs/arms etc. so I can't really comment on that. I know you normally get good results but redness and bumps might last a few days. Depending on the wax you use it could cause a few pimples as well...
Waxing would only be a short term method, most say the results ast 2 weeks before growth again.

Hair Removal Cream'e - Nair or Louis Marcel : This is another method I'm currently using. I have the Louis Marcel one and it does work! What I see happening is, the hair moves further up the shaft almost ready to fall out - it's important though that you have a few days growth for the hair to be ready to fall out. Would be ideal if we all didn't have to go out on a dialy basis and you know live lives! But it leaves me smooth and mostly hair free! I tend to leave it on a good 20 minutes - it says 10 on the pack... not long enough imo. It costs £4.99 from Amazon.co.uk
BEWARE!! I left it on... and actually double applied the cream'e and it burnt my face sooo BAD!! I then though Savlon might heal it but Oh my God did it sting!! DON'T DO THIS!!! :embarrassed:
Anyway I now use it sparingly but as Cindy says risks of chemical burns and skin bleaching are there, so do really take care if you intend to use any products on your face, I learned the hard way. My face has healed up ok now though btw!

Hair Bleaching Cream'e - JOLEN : This is another method I've tried... it didn't work for me sadly but it all depends on how thick or dark your hair actually is. I left the bleach on for a good 10 minutes as it says on the pack, no burning or soreness but it just didn't work on me. I've read women having good results with this though so maybe once your on hormones it'll be a better choice, as the hair will be finer and possibly less dense.
Just to note: I tested this on my arm and it actually Bleaches the skin too! Take care not to leave on too long as it might make your beard area more obvious... if anything

Epilators - Facial epilators are a waste imo, haven't even tried it but that's cause I don't want to watse money. NoNo has seen alot of praise on TV ads but customer reviews are awful!! Most say it makes the hair grow back prickly or it doesn't even remove the hair.

ILP Systems - I had a session booked for this, unknowingly to me it's actually Intense Pulses of Light... NOT laser hair removal. All this treatment does is put the hair into the 'resting phase' and eventually it will grow back. Thankfully I got some good advice from Jenny here on the firums and didn't bother going for my appointment... come to think og it the lady was extremely pushy and insisted I have 6 treatments at £180 for just my top lip...

Laser Hair Removal - I am saving for this one! Sk:n clinics in the UK are fantastic, very highly praised and very professional. It'll take me until August rougly to save the £650 I need to have it done - that's an initial 8 sessions! but I'm sure it'll be well worth the pain and time. If I have to get more done I will - this is really the only best solution for me.

Electrolosys - Successful but really time consuming and could take upto 2 years to totally remove all hairs as there's three growth cycles to go through...

I would say save for laser and be ready for the pain when it comes.

Sister,
After all you have been through laser won't even be noticeable in the pain area!!!!

The only bit that really hurt was the upper lip and that wasn't too bad.
