Hey guys, I'm moving forward slightly with my transition. Kyle was a name I liked, so I decided to go by it on this forum. But Wiley is a name I might actually go by for the rest of my life (it's what I would have been named) so I want to start using it on here to get more used to it and because I feel more connected to it. It makes me feel like I'm taking transitioning even more seriously, if that makes sense. So I just thought I'd make a quick topic so those that kind of know me know what's up. Thanks bros.

I did the same thing myself, went by Matty for a bit but Jack is what I associate better with. 1) It's a name my family like and 2) It's the name I had when I snuck into a boys only hockey team lol.

So are we in 'Getting Serious' squad now?

I like Wiley, it's different.

I always tell guys to enjoy playing around with different names. For me it was probably the most fun I had with transition but also the most indecisive.

I'm thinking about Jackson Wiley, using Wiley as a middle name.

I have NEVER thought about my name! It's like... the last problem i have on my list of problems. It's so easy to solve, i could use like 30min and up to 1 hour to decide on my name. I just want to feel complete. And my name is just a part of my documents. Which is nothing but a legal process.

I have hated my birth name my entire life. So when I finally change it, I want to be 100% satisfied. My mom wanted to name me Wiley, a name a disliked for a while after she told me. But it's grown on me and makes me feel more connected as male to my family. And at this point in my life when I can't do anything else to transition because of money and family issues, I'm letting myself focus ony name some more, so I can try and get at least one thing right.

It's interesting to see someone who was so nonchalant about choosing their new name. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was harder for me to choose a new name than it was for me to decide to get on T or choose surgeries. I drove a handful of people bonkers randomly changing and trying out new names.

Now that I think about it, it took me about two years or so to finally get a name. I was Matthew, Sebastian, and Zane before I was Simon. My mom actually ended up choosing Simon so I could get something legalized. Tell you the truth there are still times even after 11 years of it being legally my name that I doubt I ended up with the right one.

I had a moment recently where someone accidentally called me Jason instead of Jack and I did the whole, "Hmmm - I kinda like that!"  So I think we all jump around a bit but I am sticking with Jack.

Boy do I know how you feel. My birth name is Krystal and I have always hated it. I hate the way it sounds, I hate that there's a bunch of different spellings, but mostly I hate the fact that it sounds white trash. I've even had people tell me it sounds white trash. I actually started going by Samantha because I hated my name so much. My parents still refuse to call me by my chosen female name but it suits me so much better. Even the definition/origin of the name fits me.

I have gone by Bella on the internet for a long time (which actually came from a dog, after which I then named my RS account, and since I was SO bloody addicted to RS at that time the name grew into a personal thingie), even though that's a female name... I never saw it as such, because my RS char was a guy his entire electronic life (people did ask "are you REALLY a guy" sometimes, and I would be like "OF COURSE I AM!" not understanding where they got the notion I wasn't LOL! I could be so thick-headed sometimes )
But yeah, at this point I feel sorry for not having picked a male name early on the run already. As then it would be easy to pick, lol. AND save some confusion (my plush dog (yes, I still have it, incase you wonder) has the same name. And I have tried explaining he's a boy for a THOUSAND times, lol!).

But yeah, I'm not entirely sure about Erik, but it fits better than most other names. And I know myself. I can be horribly indecisive at times, and then I just have to PICK and not look back. Since otherwise... I'll be busy till the Earth becomes flat!
