I have a friend who recently came out to his family. well they kicked him out and they got rid of all his clothes. all he has is the clothes on his back. I'm letting him stay with me. I was wondering if anyone got any unwanted clothing maybe they can mail to him? He needs EVERYTHING.

We live in a very close minded area. and there isn't any support down here. to get clothes. food. nothing. i got his food, and room covered. but he needs clothes/shoes/ etc.

That's so sad. :( Unfortunately, I don't really have any guys' clothes myself (I stupidly gave them away to Goodwill years ago thinking I wouldn't wear them again) and my feet are way too big for his size.

Good luck to him, I hope you can get a good bit of clothes together for him. Check out the Goodwill to get some cheap clothes, or look into homeless services around you. I know a lot of churches gather and give away clothes to those in need. They don't need to know why he's homeless.

Damn, that sucks!  Unfortunately I can't do much to help out as I'm the same size but with longer legs and larger feet, so anything I could help out with would be much too big.

I would definitely look into churches and homeless organisations for clothes.  Do some searches in the area or find some helpline numbers for homeless resources and see what you can find.  There must be options out there and he does qualify as being homeless.  Also right now, if anything is better than nothing, with pants you can use a belt and fold them up at the bottom, and shirts can be a little baggier until he finds his feet.

Also, just a thought, but see if there's any transgender resources out there.  I was discussing this issue with some people from group recently when we realised that we had either feminine or masculine clothing at home still that we no longer had any need for but hadn't thrown out.  So we started thinking about sharing that clothing with each other.  So that could be an option too.  I know you said it's a close minded community but there may be some resources out there.  If you gave a rough indication of the area, maybe people here might be able to help out too.

Best of luck!

I have a bunch of small t-shirts and gym shorts I can't wear anymore. PM me the info if you want 'em.

I think I might have some shoes I don't need. I should warn you, I bought them from the back of some guy's van like 5 years ago @_@. They're still in good condition since I rarely ever wore them. They were 2 sizes too big XP. Wait, I found a second pair! These are in better condition. Which pair do you want? Do you want 'em both? I wish I had more, but I don't even have enough clothes for myself XP.

We went to salvation army. All they gave him was a voucher for two pair of clothes. thats all the resources we have here really.

There is no LGBT or transgender services. There isn't any groups here . The only group we have is PFLAG. I live in Midland/Odessa, Texas. George bush home town. we are currently having a housing crisis here because of all the oil field people. A one bedroom apartment is 955 a month and that doesn't include utilities. there is even no low income housing or HUD there is a two year wait list for that. It's pretty crazy here, but you can get a job fast.
