Does anyone know how long it can take to get a Gender Confirmation Certificate in the UK? I pass all criteria. My old passport expired in 1998 and need a new one with correct gender marker. There's absolutely no way in hell I will travel with a male passport and I need a passport for SRS. I was going to book SRS soon but now realise I will need to put it off as long as it takes to get this certificate.

I posted my completed form off back on the 2nd of May and I got my GRC back on Thursday just gone, the 14th, so that's about 6 weeks in total, getting everything together for the form however took 3 months, on and off

Wow, 6 weeks. There may still be hope for me to get my surgery done before November. Then I need to start the process right now as a passport will take time to process too. Thanks!

A for you.

It seems I don't need a GRC for my passport! Can that be true!???

"You can apply for a passport in an acquired
gender. This option is available to those who do
not hold a Gender Recognition Certificate or
have not had gender reassignment surgery, as
well as those who have. "
