Sorry for the length, but I have to tell someone about this.

So I'm walking around the downstairs tidying up. I'm wearing a lightweight pink top that shows my body contours well and a gray denim skirt that goes to about two inches above the knees. It's pitch dark outside, so every window acts like a full-length mirror.

And I see this woman staring back at me and I realize that sometime in the past few weeks, I've actually become a woman.

Big deal, you say, this is Susan's. People change their sex all the time.

But, see I've wanted to be female for ALMOST FORTY YEARS. And here I am, not just a woman, but exactly the woman I want to be. I love the way I'm dressed, I love the way my body looks. I hate my face and hair, but what woman doesn't?

I just can't believe that something so amazing has happened. I've actually changed my sex!

At one of the workshops in the Philadelphia Trans Health conference, there was a discussion about the new "Gender Identity Dysphoria" designation. One of the guys commented that he didn't like that, because not all of us experience dysphoria. "Some people," he said, "experience gender EUphoria." His point was  that transition and treatment were just as appropriate for them.

That's definitely they way my transgender manifests itself, as an overwhelming euphoria when I see myself, or some part of myself, looking like the female I should be.

Again, sorry for the length, but I had to share this with someone.
Awesome post.

Well I would if the damned what-I-expect-now-is-lactose-intolerance didn't come on with a vengeance and try to kill me. :( Lol.

Reading through this forum.

Some of you are fantastic story tellers, you express yourselves so well. Its like getting a big hug from people who just get it. I don't have to say anything because you all do.

Mum spotting my new earrings instantly, and dealing with the idea just as quickly.

Though if she'd seen exactly which shoes I was looking at 60 seconds earlier in the shoe shop where we accidentally met, I'm not sure if things'd've gone quite so smoothly.  :o

Does it have a name?

No name yet. Or a gender, I might add. Right now ze's sort of non-binary. I suppose I'll come up with a name when ze finds zir gender identity.

I guess it would be me who would end up with a genderfluid elephant.

How about Mallory?  It's a gender neutral name.

It was yesterday, but I got home late and didn't log in.

I found a way I could involve my parents in my transition.

When I came out to them in Spring of 2011 and announced my chosen name, my mom was a little disappointed and had wondered if I'd consider the name they'd chosen if I'd been assigned female at birth, Karen. I declined and they accepted this. The court order for my legal name and gender change in January declared that a new birth certificate was to be issued.

My parents agreed to be the signatories on the affidavit  to change the birth certificate!

I completed a DIY task today and got it right! Didn't mess up, didn't cut wood wrong length after measuring 20 times, didn't drill holes in wrong place......................didn't make any mistakes and the finish is spot on. So pleased. :)
Put me under a microscope what would you see?

Forgot to post this yesterday as that is when it happened, but here we go! I bought my first boy clothes! Enough for the weekend. Except socks. I forgot that. And I'm not gunna wear boxers just yet. But I got them all washed and all I have to do is repair the button on the cargo pants. And they are getting packed tonight for the convention this weekend! I'm excited. Plus I get to see Misato!

I think i passed a test i was very nervous about very well, actually. I hate maths. Give me "English" or "History" anytime or let me write a poem for "German". But it won't matter because that teacher is an idiot with a grudge against me, but i showed her. Hah!
