in our minds we say some of the most hurtful and ugly things to ourselves. things that most of us wouldn't say to other people even.   why?  is there a point to this?

Why we do it is because we can.

There is a point to it if the negative thoughts are taken as a challenge and used to make us better people.

There is no point if we wallow in our own mud and do nothing to come out of it.

Why?  Isn't it a fundamental law of physics somewhere?  ;)

I wish I knew why.  If I could learn to stop this behaviour, I'd be a lot better off... that's for sure.
