Most crime in concentrated in cities and in those cities concentrated in open market drug areas as a result of territorial disputes. Almost all homicides in Philadelphia occur in a small area in the city and happen when one group (no such thing as gangs in Philly) sells heroin on another block. Philadelphia is the heroin capital of America. I read an article whe this DEA agent from the Bronx was stunned coming to Philly and seeing how much heroin is here. That being said it is exceedingly dangerous to be an unpassable trans woman in a bad area. People always say don't worry about whether you pass but for me passing is literally life and death.
Last year, I was beaten within an inch of my life with a Glock 9 mm, tortured with a taser, and then forced on my knees, blindfolded and made to count down from 10 at which point I expected to be executed. Instead, they vanished. There were three of them. I was hormones at the time and stopped because of this. I don't know if it was because I was trans or not but they if followed me they prolly did not think I was a guy until they got up close. They had a real hate on for me. It might not have been because I was trans I just don't know but it was not a robbery as they didn't take my money, my iPhone or anything.
