Good Morning. Yesterday I had my seventh laser seasons. Apart from a few cold burns that look like sun burn (I did not put the ice pack correctly) and it being the second most painful session I've ever had (this time I had such a regrowth I had beard shadow for the first time in my life.

Usually I wait a week before shaving to let the skin heal and the burnt hair come out. The only issue with that is that they usually are the worst 7 days of the month, with a half hairy face. Previously it was easy to deal with, but lately I'm having a forceful need to go out in female mode (helps with feeling a bit better, specially in the extra dysphoric days as today), wanting to shave as soon as possible.

How long do you wait? I'm hoping this time it will be more effective after two months on HRT...

I used to wait 2-3 days... And be gentle.

I may be different but I always shave the next day. Never had an issue but the swelling and redness would usually subside by the next day.

I always have a hot bath soak to open up the pores and shave that evening. I actually exfoliate lightly a little first but I am very gentle with the shave and it works well. Will be so glad when I don't have to shave anymore

I never shave after ...but I don't have to present girl.
I'll shave when I'm grown out before laser again.

For up to two weeks....clears like new so I would
Rather burn the @$@+ out ...hard

Hairs under my skin literally incinerate and leave a red mark
Where they used to be....the ones the haven't broke through that is

And cold showers for the next three days....to eventually using a
Pumice stone on the laser areas very gently...gently. ..to get rid of the
Pepper marks...and sunscreen...daily .....spf110.....vampire screen!!!!

I've always shaved the next day, but be gentle (as another said).  If you can get Biafine, use it. Very helpful in the healing process if you have any burns.

I tried shaving today... Too painful and I could not fully cut the worst hairs, so I am looking pretty much the same. Usually it's easier to let them fall on it's own or pull them when they are not attached anymore...


I'm having a really awful day. Let's hope tomorrow I can shave better. I really need to switch presentations without looking like the bearded lady.

Similar situation for me.  I used to wait several days - I felt I got a better shave if I let the hairs grow out a little longer, but this time I didn't want to wait since we were going out the following night.  It was less than pleasant - my face was partially broken out from the treatment - which surprised me since it was the first breakout I've had since I started using the numbing cream before the session.

Next time I guess I'll bite the bullet and try and wait a few days - but I won't be happy about it.

Urgh, nothing. I was hoping I could go back to female presentation today, but I still can't. I'm bleeding everywhere after trying to shave again, and the hair is still remaining inside, so beard shadow today. Less than yesterday, but still there.

I guess what they said in the clinic about me being a slow healer that burns quickly is true... I have no other option than letting it heal until next Thursday, when  really need to gout as female.


Damn, my manicure was perfect. What a waste...

Another option I was doing in the start of my lasing
Was using a tweezerman slant tweezer....the large ones
And finding the ones sticking out and pulled them out.
Could never get them all.  So I gave up ...

Maybe oil your face with olive oil and help them slide out.

Fifth sixth full face pass....

I was always able to shave the following day but due to the "dead" hairs it was almost unsuccessful to do so.  I used an exfoliate  to gently scrub my face which helped the hair to shed.  My stubble did remain dark for about a week after treatment.  I recently had my 14th treatment on my face and am almost hair free.  A few days after treatment I am usually able to tweeze the dark "dead" hairs.  Believe me, that week of being uncomfortable and self conscious begins to waver as the results are seen.  I have gone from having to wear a concealer as well as a heavy foundation and powder to using nothing but a moisturizer in public.  Stay positive and calm...the results are worth it.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you are saying and if so let me apologize in advance; but I've had three sessions so far and I've seen results after each.  I still have plenty to go; but I now have several larger spots where there is no hair and quite a few smaller ones scattered around my face and neck (the "clean spots" really stand out on my neck).  So to me I'm seeing benefits with each session as any hair that is gone is one I don't have to worry about.

No impossible to kill hairs in three treatments..
More like 10-12 for mtf....
It slows it down ..need Ro grow it all out Befor
Laser again...or waste your money.

I have had my 7th and each session gets less and the effects take longer to see.  Also I am using two separate clinics (there was a deal on I didn't want to miss so I alternate) and the lasers are more effective in one place than the other, like... a lot.
