I'm curious. How many of you guys get your E level tested after you are six or more months into HRT?

I'm scheduled to have my Total/Free T, Estradiol, and Liver Panels checked next week. My Endo doesn't require it but I'm taking the initiative and doing it on my own. Why check the E after a hysto? Eh, I figure why not. Be interesting to see what the levels are now.

Aren't we supposed to get small amounts from our adrenal glands, or something? Or is that T for people who are naturally estrogen-driven? Too lazy to look it up.

I'm curious to hear about your hormone levels. I had my T checked pre-HRT (it was seriously in the gutter), but I've never had my E checked.

I got a reply from the doc and he wasn't concerned with what I reported happening. That's put my mind at ease, and he told me we're going to talk about different methods of getting T in my system besides injecting.
Sorry you have to wait for this to happen. I know of a couple of people who use gel/cream to keep themselves more emotionally stable. Maybe you can use one of those delivery methods and get to some level of stability. Keep us posted.

I agree that if you missed some shots, that may well be the cause. T makes me feel great, generally, but the one time I missed a shot the world WAS ENDING and I was a total ->-bleeped-<- for a week. It was terrible.

maybe you just need a more frequent shot? im pretty stable these days, and im much less angry now im on T - but a few days before my shot and my mood starts to slide, i call it preshot blues :P im not even sure its a common thing >.<

I'm wondering if preshot blues (I like that wording) is true.  I've only had 1 shot but since Thursday I've had a little less get up and go.  I'm feeling more tired and doing my workouts seems more like a chore than something I want to do.  I work out 6 times a week with a at home workout and then 3 times a week I go to Taekwon-do and yesterday it took me over 4 hours to finally do a workout.  Oh and on Friday night I slept over 11 hours!  Almost unheard of for me!

it happens before every shot - usually 3 -4 days before im due, its a bit annoying lol, i usually end up crying a bunch :p

Well I'm hoping it's first shot preshot blues!  But if it carries on I'll maybe see about talking to endo about when I take shots and see if it can be evened out better.  Good to always get a collection of feedback to know what's going on out there in T shot land! :P

I was tired, and I slept more than usual, when I was early in HRT. Other guys here have had the same experience. Good thing I wasn't working as much as I am now, or I'd never have gotten anything done.

Which reminds me...today is shot day, but it is late, I still have tasks to do, and the shot takes at least six minutes. Maybe I'll do it in the morning.

It took me a while to even out...I had pre-shot issues for maybe the first 6-8 weeks. I would cry and just hate the world and be very moody. Kinda like PMS actually, but worse. It went away though and now, I only notice a small decrease in energy before my shot.

Maybe you should just get a punching bag.

I don't have any room for a punching bag, but I am joining a local boxing club for fitness and 'self defense'. We'll see how it works out.

I deal with pre shot blahs every week. I do my injections on Tuesdays weekly and by Sunday night/Monday morning I am draggin'. I don't get emotional, it's more like I am not moving from the couch if you came at me with a pitchfork. I thought maybe it was so bad because I'm post hysto so towards the end of my week I have minimal hormones in me. Not trying to do the "misery loves company" thing but it is nice to know I'm not alone.

It was REALLY bad when I first started and was on a 14 day cycle. Jack, if you're not stressed over a needle every week it might benefit you to ask about splitting your dose up.

Oh, and Arch I'll tell you my levels when I get them. Just had blood drawn yesterday and since today is the 4th I'm thinking I won't get results till next week.

All day today I've felt exhausted. I got 8 hours of sleep, but after 3 hours of being awake I still couldn't shake the grogginess. It was so bad that while running errands I'd sit in the truck for a few minutes and rest before going into the store or driving to my next destination. Thursday is my new shot day after starting again.

The good news is, while I'm still irritable and being a cranky capital B I'm not flying off the handle. My doctor appointment is Monday.

Sounds like maybe you are stabilizing. The tiredness seems pretty normal for early in HRT, but that doesn't mean that it ISN'T something else.

Cis men can get tired and irritable when they have LOW testosterone. I wonder if you are experiencing that? I'll be interested to hear what the doc says.
