Hi everybody,

I think this is the most appropriate place to ask this question. It may be too personal for some to feel comfortable answering but it's not really sensitive enough for the Just For Us forum in my opinion.

OK so the first thing to state here is I was not blessed in regards to body hair. It's thick, black and pretty much everywhere besides my palms  :'( I have been getting laser on my face (full beard) and chest (Collar bone to navel) and the results have been great, it took a while to really make a difference but now (10 sessions on the face, 8 or 9 on the chest) the hair is almost totally gone and what is left is lighter, thinner, and grows slower. So that path is almost at it's end.

This brings me to my question, ladies who suffered the indignity of back hair and werewolf arms, did you need to get those areas (arms, back, shoulders, bum) lasered  as well or did the hormone regimen reduce the hair away completely? I am currently on T-blockers only and haven't noticed any reduction, will oestrogen have that effect?

Right now with these areas I am shaving/waxing regularly to keep smooth but obviously I don't want to keep having to get waxed once I am full time or even once I can no longer pretend to be a man with my shirt off.

While I am asking these questions I will also ask, is it necessary to get your nethers lasered prior to SRS or not? I can't seem to find too much info in that regard, granted my search wasn't extensive, but again if this is something I could get a head start on why not  :P

TL;DR = Is laser required for all body hair if it's thick and vlack pre-hormones?

Thanks for reading all that,
Jessie

I was pretty hairy--dark and thick, but not ape-mannish--and got laser'd for the face/neck area, and Brazilian...before HRT. After, I noticed a significant reduction in all body hair (back, chest, arms, and legs; not with the two treated areas (face and Brazilian), they stayed diminished due to laser though). I was shaving once every 3-4 days (iirc), after about 6-8 months I noticed I was shaving once every other week or so.

Other people have different results, though. Some do, some don't see a reduction after HRT.
...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

Never had any were-wolf hair issues, but I had everything removed by a combo of laser and electro pre-HRT. HRT will further slow any regrowth and kill off most stragglers.

Depends on the surgeon. Most all US SRS surgeons want the genital hair removed prior to HRT via electrolysis. Laser will help with 1-2 clearings, but electro is need to ensure full and total removal so there will not be any regrowth inside the neo-vagina.

Do you know if this is universal or based on a particular technique because I am in Europe so will be highly unlikely I'll go to US surgeon? More likely EU or Thai. Thanks for the feedback though.

I have had my face, arms, pits, legs and behind done. I'm not really that hairy but the treatments really worked great! I have had much success. Next is the bikini area. I heard that hurts so bad.  :-\

I have noticed a reduction in the thickness in body hair. I mean it becomes fine and thin after some time on HRT.

I have a friend that is having laser done pre SRS. I guess you have to find the right person comfortable to do it.

It pretty much is the norm here in the USA. I'd contact the surgeons you are interested in, in advance... That way you'll have time to get it done.

I've seen this as a requirement on several thai surgeons' sites too. Either way, do you honestly want hair growing in there? I can't even imagine, and you can't get it removed after the fact.

If you can find someone who doesn't require it, I would say it is a personal choice, pain and money vs final result's value to you.

[edit: i don't mean how much you value your final product, but whether the hair matters to you as much as the pain and money]

Yeah, I was actually more asking cause I didn't know if there were surgical techniques that would take care of it as a side effect rather than having to spend the money/time/pain doing it beforehand. Seeing as there aren't I guess I'll go for it as soon as I can afford it.

Oh, my appologies then. I hope it winds up being tolerable.

No need to apologise, you answered the question I asked. If the intent wasn't clear that was my fault. And besides your answer was helpful :)

I can almost guarantee it won't be :P but there's nothing to be done about that really.

Brassard will remove all the hair him self
Via electric cauterization....
And he wants no hair removed becasue
He needs to see it all during surgery .

Basically all wpath grs surgeons are going to .
So electeric cauterization to remove hair.

Its a debate ..personally I'm stuck on mcginn who
Wants it removed...and brassard who doesnt

Before starting HRT, I was extremely hairy.  That is a warewolf had nothing on me.  While HRT did help a lot, quite a bit of hair still remains, so far, I have essentially had to laser just about every part of my body to remove all traces of dark hair.  Of course, a lot of this varies from person to person, so as always with transition YMMV.

Everything I read prior to starting HRT said it should greatly reduce non terminus body hair over time. How long depends on the person, and I've seen some people say they saw results in as little as 6 months and some say a few years.

I have a very similar body hair situation as yours. I'm 9 months on HRT and have noticed basically no difference at all. I finally bit the bullet and started LHR on my entire torso. I plan on going full time in December and wanted to make sure that no matter what my body hair would be taken care of.

Exactly I expect to go full time regardless body hair also..
In maybe four months ..
Just no low cut shirts and dress pants..

I am most concerned with facial hair obviously. .
From what I understand...light hairs on body are easier
To eradicate than facial hair after hrt  .

Time will tell...I live in Canada winter is coming in three months
No one shows cleavage or leg!!!  Until march April...
