They are showing that movie this weekend as part of the INTRAA Reel Gender film series. Alas I can't go. I saw the second half of it on network tv a long time ago and thought I'd make it part of my collection. I never got around to it though. My wife met the producer, just by chance. I think they were roomies on a Youth Spirituality Workshop several years ago.

It's kismet that I hear about it twice in the same day.

That's it, I'm going to amazon and order it right now.

i've seen it about 7 times. the director really understood the rural mindset. it seems strange, but people being trapped in a rural environment--and hating it--is almost a metaphor for being trapped in the wrong body. it's a good film.

Thanks Ell. I think I'll be happy I added it to my collection. I live in a town of about 250 people (no that figure is NOT missing any zeros). I think I'll like seeing it at least 7 times.

Another small town movie that is worth a viewing or two is "The Spitfire Grill". The scenes in the restaurant are seen every day in our little cafe. Alas, I loaned that movie to someone and never got it back. I hope they enjoy it!!

My copies of "But I'm a Cheerleader" and "Boys Don't Cry" just arrived. Its a double feature night!!

I watched "Barnyard" last night with a group of kids at my work. Has anyone seen this animated movie?  Half way though I finally noticed that all the boy cows had udders!!!   ???

Is this the first Transcow animated film. I had a very private laugh over that one.  ;D
