Ann Coulter: I know he got a bad rap because there are no monuments to Joe McCarthy. Liberals had to destroy McCarthy because he exposed the entire liberal establishment as having sheltered Soviet spies.

I think that pretty much says it all.

I'd like to know what is wrong with soviet spies.  Everybody thinks it's okay for them to have spies and no one else should have spies.   I'm only half kidding.

I'd like to spy on Ann Coulter.  I wonder if her smelly totalitarian friends will allow me to spy on her without a warrant?

All I can say is "what goes around comes around".  This self righteous movement will cease someday and there will be a backlash.  Those who are bigots will get their due.

Ever think the whole thing is a very elaborate joke, with the actual intent of discrediting the right?

Well, if you are bored you can Google Ann Coulter and transsexual and it makes for some amusing reading.

chuckles. she has super high cheek bones with scarily deep eye sockets and she is so classless, rude, and uneducated of common sense. even in her glamour shot i would not want to get near the picture of ugliness.  so there...

I have considered that. The truth is, she is an educated lawyer. I just find it impossible to believe she believes the things she says. No one of her intelligence could believe what she claims to believe. And she is getting really rich while doing it. Her views are so extreme, I just have to believe she must laff her head off after doing interviews. No one could really believe those things, could they? I mean Joe McCarthy should have a monument erected to him? Come on? Not even the hardest right wingers I know, would go along with that.

And, finally, does her appearance or gender history really affect the quality of her arguments?

what quality? ha ha ha ha ha  she's a moron.  plain and simple

Or are you simply hoping that personal dislike for her will, irrationally, taint the statements she makes?

yes and no, so there...

It really offends me when people call her ugly or say that she is a transsexual when they are slandering her.

I mean, seriously. Do men have their opinion insulted based on how they look? Do we ever wonder if, say, Bill O'Reilly is ftm? And do we have such a huge amount of internalized cisgenderism that it is so easy to use transsexual as a negative term?

And, finally, does her appearance or gender history really affect the quality of her arguments? Or are you simply hoping that personal dislike for her will, irrationally, taint the statements she makes?

Here is Maddox's blog on O'Reilly Titled

"Bill O'Reilly is a big blubbering Vagina"

I guess the answer is, men are attacked in the same manner.

In what way is she a moron? And can you even use such a one-dimensional term to describe someone who you've never gotten to know very well?

i'm using the same one-dimensional term you're using little girl.

i'd better say young lady. ;)

I'm not one of thosre who insulted her looks, Perchance,
she could look like Hulk or Cindy Crawford, I don't care.

What does bother me is that
her arguments are always baseless, no way they can EVER resist scrutiny.
But in her audience really wants to know that they're "house of cards",
no one, she panders to people who will never question her, takes every words
she says at face value, same thing with O'Reilly.

Even if she had someone of any quality debating her face to face,
which happens once in a blue moon, she would do the same
thing as O'Reilly, playing up to her adoring TV crowd, and never really talking
to the person in front of them.

well, just in case you haven't noticed, ann coulter's ideology is about getting attention and making money, it is not at all about politics.  she's an attention whore (there is my noun, tink ;)), who may at one time have honestly believed in conservative principles, but who has gotten a taste of the heroin of fame and like a junkie, has to go further and further to get that next fix, to the point that she's tossed all of her principles to the wind and stopped actually defending a point of view, preferring instead to simply malign one she disagrees with.
and, you'll note, she rarely even attacks the [substance] of a liberal [or non neoconservative] argument, she goes for the ad hominem attack.

But as long as people respond and it gets her book sales and chances to speak on television, ms. coulter will continue to write more and more slanderous, outlandish and [it appears] plagiarized prose.

What this country really needs is to return to substantive debate of the issues and what it'll take to fix the problems we face, not mud slinging, hoping we can tar the other guy worse than he can tar us so that we win regardless of whether our argument is the stronger one [or even has any logical merit at all]

you wanted to hear my [why's]?  there they are.

The article doesn't actually insult his appearance very much, though. He isn't called ugly at all and the vagina reference is used to say that he is "a lesser being just like a woman" rather than "he is a female-to-male transsexual".

I would argue that there is quite a significant difference between being a vagina and having one.

New thread:    If you were a vagina, would you want to be one that's seen a lot of action?  Or No?

Posted on: July 03, 2007, 07:08:08 AM

I agree with Perchance that we should not attack a person's appearance under any circumstance when it comes to disagreeing with that person.

We should be attacking the beefhead producers of these shows who give her air time.  Some of the shows that allow her to speak are supposed to be news and not entertainment shows. But I don't expect much integrity from television people.

If I had a show, I would not ever give coulter a platform no matter what. Not even for entertainment value.  I would never allow Rush Limbaugh on one of my shows either.  But I am just a poor being with no means or media muscle.

I really would like to spy on Coulter, though. I am curious about how she really thinks. If what we see is some kind of marketable persona, I'd like to know how much time she spends preparing it.  also, I'd like to use her credit card info to spend her money on the homeless and the mentally ill as fast as she can earn it.

By the way, I do respect the opinions of morons. I have to in case I turn out to be one.  DON"T ANSWER THAT!!!

EXACTLY. See, I avoid these right-winger nut cases and their jabber like the plague, don't even give 'em any thought, they ain't worth it. However, this thread, with the transsexual angle, hey I googled that, you betcha!

Combine what you said, Elizabeth, with the fact that she sure appears to have an adam's apple, and I think it's a set-up. There's too much over-the-top stuff going on here.

Define a lot of action. Before I can even try and answer...

It all started with Rush.  Now the official pattern is to be mean and offensive.  A talking head that acts like a lady or gentleman can't get an audience anymore.

I have no problem attacking Ann Coulter and her character, since she has demonstrated that she has no character, no respect for anyone who disagrees with her and hence does not deserve my respect.

Would I wanna be a vag having seen that kinda action. Ok, I'd say - no.  Not on those particular fronts.
