Dear Susan's

I am a 40 year-old transwoman from Arizona.  I am hoping that some of you might be able to help me with a little advice.

I am presently a student at the community colleges here and I would really like some input about timelines.   I expect to go on to state college probably either fall of 2014 or spring of 2015 and graduate from there either spring or fall of 2017.  The deal is,  I don't know where to try to fit transition in here.  I would really like to transition before I graduate but that would really complicate my schooling.  I'm not terribly thrilled with the idea of waiting til after either.  I am considering possibly slowing down my schooling so I can fit everything in.  I know that SRS will definately need to wait til after college though. I am heavily overweight right now so that complicates things.   I am also presently out of work so my funds are really limited.

I'd really like any advice any of you can give.

Thanx! :-)

Hi aztgirl2011, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 6780. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister.

And be sure to check out these links ( MUST READS )

Transition happens when you feel most comfortable.

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

Welcome.

Perhaps seeking out help through student services may provide some help. You may want to seek out a gender therapist and start a journal of your thoughts, hopes, desires, fears and accomplishments. HRT takes time and it sounds like you have some.

Do you want to transition at school or when you are just starting your career?
