Dareian and Yolanda Rux were just doing their job as parents.

The Harrisburg couple's now 16-year-old daughter came out to them a little more than a year ago. And they showed support for their daughter Saturday by being among the many packing into Riverfront Park for the Pride Festival of Central Pa.

With issues regarding same-sex marriage taking the spotlight in recent months, the couple agreed that attitudes toward the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community seems to be changing. Others at the festival seemed to agree, at least in part.

"It's definitely changing," Dareian Rux said.

"The rest of the world already was OK with it," Yolanda Rux said. "You go to Europe or any other countries, Americans are just kind of ..."

"Old fashioned," Dareian Rux said, finishing his wife's sentence.

I noticed that the attendance to Pride fests and marches has gone down here in Denver the past several years.  We had one about a month ago.  The local TV station devoted about a minute of coverage on their newscast, but the same orange painted gays in a small float was shown at different angles with fewer followers with signs.  This used to be big here.
