I am really liking Paracelsus as a villain in Warehouse 13.

It was yesterday, but I got home late. I went to a lesbian dance party at Splash in San Jose and had an awesome time dancing.

It was more my whole weekend..

Started with breakfast on Friday with some old friends in my home town. Then lunch with another friend.. Then back to one of the friends I had breakfast with place to get ready to go to a wedding, where I was fill-in Mother-of-the-Bride, in honour of my late GF, Alison. It was a really great afternoon/evening..

Saturday morning was a bit of a recovery and catch up with the friend I was staying with.. Then it was time to head off and catch up with another old friend.. An exGF, in fact.. We checked in to a hotel and went off in search of food and some drinks.. Had a few drinks and preceded to get ready to go out. Emma and I then went out to a few old haunts - which was a different experience as a woman. Sunday was breakfast and shopping with Emma..

Good times and good friends makes for a very happy Kelly.. I'm also tired, a little hungover still and bits of my body are a little sore..

I got a call today for a job interview in Indianapolis on Thursday. If i get the job, I'll be making blank CD's and DVD's. Which is great. they are made using clear Poly-carbonate, same as Headlight lenses. so, maybe no more Nylon and getting burned by that stuff.

And I filled out my FAFSA. Maybe I'll go to school for something. I am thinking Game design, animation or psychology. (We need more therapists who help trans people).

Good luck, Keaira.
Today, we went to the library and I got out Holes and Small Steps. Then we went to the park. Right now, my son is curled up in a nest he made of my blankets beside me.

My sister. She's been indispensable these last few months. She called this morning to check in and we had a long, candid chat. The road ahead will to be tough and it's nice to know that I have an ally in the family.

Will do!
I've been looking at their website. It looks like I could branch out into graphic design there too. Its a complete CD/DVD manufacturing company makes and ships albums, movies, games, etc. They also do custom USB memory sticks. So it is an interesting place.

Oh, and I called the electric company to see about getting an extention. All of my bills are under my old name still. So I gave the woman on the other end of the line, my name, social, account, etc. And we talked about the bill. Then she was going to put some notes in. She asked me for my name again and the conversation got interesting....

Her: ... Okay, and the name?
Me: Oh, **** F*****
Her:.. no, your name please.
Me: that is my name. Its my account!
Her:......* awkward silence for a moment*..... oh, I'm sorry, I thought I was talking to the Mrs...
Me: oh.. well I get that a lot. Thank you

Yea.... even trying to be a guy, I totally fail. That's just messed up.

Those kinds of conversations have got to be enormously reaffirming! I've never had one because I'm a sloth about my voice and don't make the effort probably because I don't see myself as a woman anyway. I have been called "You ladies and ma'am multiple times" I open my mouth and they become embarrassed, I suppose it's rude of me, I should be called Rudy instead of Shantel.  :D ;D

It is reaffirming, but really really awkward too! Lol. The thing is, I have never developed a female voice though training. The videos I've posted of me in the voice training threads, that is my natural voice that I have always talked with. So there is also a bit of humor and irony there too. All I can think is that, since HRT does not change one's voice, I come across as female vocally because Im not miserable anymore, so I sound happier and more upbeat. And my vocal range is probably close to or crosses into the female range anyway.

After a crumby day yesterday, lots of progress today:

* When I came home after having lunch with a close friend, I checked the mail. The confirmation of my required name change ad had arrived! I turned right around and quickly went to the courthouse and filed it. The clerk there remembered me and was very sweet about it. Said I would get the paperwork soon.

* Did my weekly hair removal and body shave session. There was barely anything on my calves to shave. After two months on Spiro, I'm finally seeing some reduction.

* (***TMI Warning***) I looked at my nipples. Gone are the tiny nubs. No longer pointy, but circular with a definite opening in the middle.

THINGS ARE PROGRESSING...
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

I'm not quite sure why, but I had a good day.

I got to see my grandma. She gave me jam, a cheese grater with a handle, and an electric guitar. Lol.
