Goth Barbie??

Why not a Cybergoth Barbie! Much more fun.

EDIT:  Oooo I found one!

I actually really like cybergoth fashion, though I wouldn't want to wear it myself. I suppose it helps that I'm a fan of brightly-coloured hair in general. But yeah, whenever I've seen cybergoths going by in their massive platform boots in the past, I've been somewhat in awe of their coolness. ;D

I personally wouldn't wear anything like this in public, but I am very fond of the style (b ut I still prefer Steampunk). I'm sure there are ways the style can be toned down a bit to be more "acceptable" in public.

Acceptable?!  Who wants that?  I want to be me.

Dare I say I've seen people like this before? xD Yes.

I come from the circus, so this is nothing foreign to me. If I had to use one word to describe the style, "Intense." In a sort of, "I can be right up in your face even though I'm standing far away from you," kinda way.

And in case you're wondering no I've never dressed up like this, but I know some people who do. x)

For how could I ever ask someone to love me as a woman for my body, if I can't even love my body as a woman for myself?

I dusted off some cyberdog stuff from storage this week and was pleased to see its androgynous enough to use again in girl mode.
Yay.  I will be that dodgy cybergoth trans chick in her late thirties at the music festival that all the young poppers snicker at but secretly admire for their long standing commitment to trance.

Just need some fluffy leg warmers....

I could totally see myself dressing up like this at a rave with my wife, party all night then stumble back to our hotel room to massage each others aching feet :-*

No, I have not been smoking weed.  I saw this and it tickled my fancy.

I think its hot!  Not sure if it would suit me but I would try it
Discord, I'm howlin' at the moon
And sleepin' in the middle of a summer afternoon
Discord, whatever did we do
To make you take our world away?

Discord, are we your prey alone,
Or are we just a stepping stone for taking back the throne?
Discord, we won't take it anymore
So take your tyranny away!

Nikki!!  You have been such a stranger.  Good to see you.

Thanks Jamie! I've had some intense medical issues lately, I'll be back more when I conquer them. What does not kill me makes me stranger.  :D

Yep, love it. If I was 18 - 20 again, I'd have a few outfits. I'd only wear it for photoshoots or clubbing/raves but I would.

The closest thing I have to that now though is black boots and arm warmers  :'(

I started getting out of goth when cybergoth started becoming popular (1999) so I didn't really have the time to get into it and collect the gear or the hair. And no, I didn't mean to betray my goth brothers and sisters, hehe, but it got to the point where my job and everything else just required me to "tone it down" to the point where I felt it just wasn't worth it anymore - just wearing black clothes with silver jewelry and eye-liner all the time gets sooooo boring -- I was missing 95% of my outfit most of the time!  :icon_blah:

I don't have the body for it anymore (or the youth, for that matter). All goths know that 29 is the cut off limit. If you keep wearing goth into your 30's you stay stuck as a goth the rest of your life! :eusa_shifty:

I have to be honest and say that I can see the cyber in it but don't really see it as goth but rather just another dance club trend

Cyber goth, Victorian goth (i.e. vampire goth), Steam-Punk, cyber-punk.  ALL are fun for cosplay, raves, halloween and parties.  Wouldn't wear any of it to work though  ;)
If I want to look like a girl, I need to eat like one.

Lol.  Its pretty hard to blend in as trans without glowing in the dark.

*sigh*- it sucked seeing all this fun stuff come in whilst I was young enough to pull it off and yet being stuck as a guy.  I spent hours walking around cyberdog in london drooling over the clothes and burning with unrecognised jealousy.  When I went clubbing or to festivals I would dress dark to hide my body.  Now I am looking at being 39 by the time I have transitioned to the point I could be comfortable wearing crazy cyb stuff out - and thats just too far past it.  It makes me cry thinking of that wasted time.  Denial has hurt me much more than being trans- I wish I could have put 2 and 2 together in my twenties- but I just did not know hrt transition was possible.  I guess I should be happy I found me and maybe a few cybergoth touches here and there.   :icon_cry2:

It really shocks me that so many are into this.  I guess I'm very conservative when it comes to fashion.  This is way too out there and abstract for me.

Just my opinion.  I'll always support one's freedom of fashion.

LtL - I mean you can tone it down if you wish.  But what fun is that?

(I will admit, Goth Barbie is sort of out there!)
