I don't why we should, menopause is forced upon women by their reproductive system giving up the ghost. Humans only lately started to live old enough for many women to actually live so much of their life after menopause. Who's to say, if people live longer, menopause will not eventually happen later to match this enhanced lifespan.
After much contractictory evidence, it seems that estrogen replacement therapy administered as soon as menopause starts and before damage to blood vessels start, is beneficial.
The main cancer problem is on the breast, caused in great part by E and P cycling for decades.
If I start E at 39, why should I diminish it to a trickle at 45? I'm not doing it! Maybe at 65, after 25 good years I'll have my menopause.
