why do some people seem to suffer from a lack of it while others have it in abundance?

It comes from the sky! Just kidding!  >:D  It has to come from within ourselves; it is that invisible force that makes me realize my biggest dreams and act on my thoughts.

I would say that I suffer from a lack of motivation in general.  I guess I have enough to keep me living in a house and somewhat well fed, which may mean that, for me, motivation seems to come from the desire to obtain the basic necessities and to keep my life as simple as is possible.

Thank you for asking. Can you tell us what motivated you to do so?

I think it's part of and a result of one's personality and temperament. It's partly built into our psyche to be motivated on something to some degree, and it's a reflection of that in the world, our view of reality or not, and our dedication or not to forge through something to what we see as the accomplishment of something.  It's its own postive and negative feedback loop in ourselves as we live and work.

But then as said, sometimes it falls from the sky and thump on the head. Ok, kidding, but sometimes I wonder.

Everything comes from within. Your whole perception of the universe comes from within. If you think that something from outside motivates you, you are actually the one who created that motivation as you see it. Something within you manifested that idea/event/whatever in the way that you saw it.

It's not only the perception of the Universe that comes from within, it's the Universe itself. Which is both *in perception* and - in a more objective, Absolute sense - exists outside that.

All is manifested from Mind and Mind is the manifestation of All, it's a loop, symbolized more or less aptly by that sign called Infinity.

But motivation as you seem to refer to it, is concrete, IE: you mean motivation TO DO things. That motivation needs struggle to even happen. Otherwise, yer on vacation. Simply Being, perhaps...

I agree, that was an exceptionally profound insight Butterfly.

I think motivation comes from inner willpower which explains why some people lack it and others have an abundance of it.  Some people just don't have any willpower while others have a lot of it so that's where motivation comes into play.
