Secretary of State John Kerry has said that effective immediately, the Department of State will process same-sex marriage visas the same as heterosexual marriage visas, as long as the marriage was performed in a jurisdiction that recognizes same-sex marriage.

Which should be the whole of USA since it is federally recognized. I'm waiting for that court battle.

A few cases have been filed which should tackle that issue.

That's not quite what the recent USSC decision said.  It said the Federal government would recognize those unions in states that recognize them.

I know, but it still should.  The term jurisdiction in the OP can easily be interpreted to mean federal rather than state.

I was kinda thinking it also meant other countries (like Iceland) that recognize SSM where couples could've been married and one is seeking a visa.

Yeah, that makes sense, and because it was the Sec. of State.  Good thinking.
