When a child is born with a cleft pallet surgeons rush to provide humanitarian aid. But when someone needs SRS to lead a normal life no one wants to help. I'm growing increasingly frustrated with being unable to afford the surgery and resentful of the doctors who treat us like patients coming in for cosmetic surgery.

In the states, there are a few states (Colorado, California and Oregon have barred the practice along with the District of Columbia) telling insurance companies they can no longer hold discrimination and keep the TG exclusions.

Its a start and i think now with states that have TG anti discrimination laws in place you could file a complaint against your insurance company.

Lots have changed and i feel in coming years will be so much better.

It has nothing to do with the doctors but with the insurance companies. The doctors are just doing their job and they don't care who is going to pay for it. The cleft pallet surgeons don't do it for free, somebody is paying for it as well.

I was referring to the missionaries who go abroad.

I just hate the mentality that some have of transsexualism as a choice including some medical professionals.

Having a big nose is also not a choice and the patients must pay for the surgery out of the pocket. It is not about the choice but the medical community needs to understand the medical necessity of the sex confirmation surgery. lack of education I would say. Ignorance of the schools of medicine to educate the prospective doctors....
