I have read this thread once or twice this year to see some of the discussion about breast growth as I am 8 months into my HRT and am curious about others' development. I would love it if the OP wanted to update us on how her breasts have developed over the past year, and all of the responders who seemed to be growing as well...At 8 months I don't know if you can classify mine as AA or what but they are growing...just very small. There is fatty tissue, some glandular stuff I think, my nipples protrude like 2 inches its weird...but theyre big and sensitive and I think its all normal...anyway hope no ones annoyed I got curious about this thread and thought itd be fun to see some updates.

I'm 5' 9" & weight 190 pounds for now, kind of a baby fat type body I guess. My breasts have definetely grow some after renewing HRT just for the past 2 weeks. My nipples are far more sensitive. They are an A cup easy.

A year ago, no HRT, @200 pound, maybe just under an A cup (moobs)

Now, 7 weeks into E-only HRT, @145 pound, working towards an A cup. The areola is expanding slowly, and is usually fairly puffy. I can feel new ducts and glands, and the breasts are getting that fatty tissue.

Perhaps I was pre-disposed to breast development though. I had breast development as a child. At about 12yo or so, I had the 'walnut' sized gland under each nipple, and they were sore back then. That was the limit of the growth sadly, and those glands slowly shrunk over the years into nothingness. With E now, it took about three weeks for those glands to return to their former state.

I definitely had some fat in the area beforehand - I could get a bit of "cleavage" if I shoved everything together hard enough - and I also had the breast buds and swelling in puberty. Which probably explains why I had tenderness by day 5 and could fill an A-cup comfortably by the end of week 1. The shape kept filling in and improving over the next couple years, and by now (a bit past 3 years on HRT) I am a 38D-42DDD depending on the bra. I did notice that it seems to go in cycles : soreness, then the breasts suddenly seem very dense and stick straight out, then softening as fat is layered on, then a rest period where nothing seems to happen, then repeat. And the areolae look all puffy and sticky-outy in the first two phases, then fade back into the breast in the latter; I assume eventually they'll stay less puffy once my breasts are done growing. I'm OK if they want to stop soon, honestly... I've heard of trans women who ended up needing reductions, and the last thing I want is to find I need to pay for *another* surgery!

My mom's a 34B, so I count myself lucky I apparently didn't get her genes. :) My sister is more endowed too, though; looks like we both take after my father's side, which has comfortably plump, curvy women.

After 2 years I'm almost filling a B-cup. Which is good, because if the general rule is 1 size smaller than my Mum, then I've been lucky and gotten bigger than her.  But then my frame and everything is bigger than her so I guess it was just going to happen anyway.

It's good.

My partner poked, prodded, nagged  and finally got me in to see her OB/GYN.  The OB/GYN is quite nice, and I like her a lot, but I usually see the nurse practitioner there.  After they gave me my first breast exam, the NP told me and showed me how to identify the glands and ducts.  I have a lot of good glands, apparently, and good big ducts.  I am in to see the NP a lot the last year or so, always a breast exam, and the report is good breast health for me.

So do not worry about the size so much as the glands and ducts.  They are important.  The size can take care of itself, and others will admire what you have, but the real issue is the glandular and ductal tissue.

One year on hrt and I am very close to a B-cup. They are growing faster now than ever before so I hope that they will get a little bigger than this :).

I will probably have BA in the beginning of next year to a D.

I posted on the first page of this thread a year ago. I was filling out an A cup then @ 8 months HRT. Around the 14 month mark I was fully filling out a B cup. They haven't grown much since then, but the shape is getting more girly if that makes sense. Some of my B cups are too small and almost act as a binder, but my C cups are too big... so it's a bit of a dilemma. I think I'm at tanner stage 4 which is rare for trans women who start late. The areolas just started getting bigger. The last guy I was with mentioned how feminine I looked with my shirt off and I thought that was a HUGE deal for me.

Maybe I'll get to a C some day.

It is common for women to have most of the glandular tissues laterally, into the armpit area.  One's eye-catching area is up front but the working machinery is further back and to the side.

That is the case for me.  My nurse practitioner explained that the lumpiness under my arms was not lymph glands but milk glands.  That is one reason I try not to wear an underwire bra.  My Bali Flower supports me fine, but the outer part of the U shaped wire is like a low grade tourniquet on the glands and ducts between the nipple and the underarm area.  I want them to be unconstricted and healthy, so a soft cup bra is more my style.

So... as for me, the "perky" armpit area is a good thing.

Well little over 1 year since I've restarted HRT and I've had about 2 inches of breast growth, about an A cup.

I am not wearing a bra yet so am wearing sports vest under my clothes.

Yes specifically on trans women!

I started noticing buds at around like 3-4 months.

Around like months 7-8 I was about 38A.

I'm 11 months now and I'm currently in a 38B :)

Buds appeared ~ 2 weeks after starting estrogen (I was 2 weeks on Spiro before starting E, so maybe E just kicked in stronger... I dunno :) ). Afterwards, they started to grow - each in its turn - even now they tend to compete with other. About 2 months in total I noticed that the fat tissue has started to grow around them as well. At 3 months on the HRT they are quite perky now, but with that soft tissue which could jiggle a bit at times :P

Well I got small buds in about a couple weeks after I started spiro, was already on E. Now that I'm on a high dose of E I'm really hoping that those buds, which haven't grown really :( will finally start to really come out.

lol, luv ya Jamie.

I'm like you, I've had moobs for many years.  My current estimate is that I have about a B cup without any female hormones.  I am overweight, that adds to it.

I'm intensely curious what would happen if I started HRT.  My Mom was well endowed, I understand that my trend would likely follow hers.  Not sure it's the best thought for me, I'd rather have nice lil perky tangerines at my armpits instead of watermelons at my belly button.

My condition was called "persistent pubertal gynecomastia."  In other words, it never went away.  I can't say I fully understand the mechanism, but I responded well to even low doses of estradiol.

Same here.  My breasts came in when I was a sixth grader, like most of my cis- classmates.  I showed my mom but she did not do anything, never talked to me about it.  Memorable moment: one of my 6th grade classmates seeing me with my top off while dressing for a school play, "You need a bra!"

It was not true: I did not need a bra in sixth grade.  But over the years, got larger, slowly, enough to feel conspicuous, barely enough to pass the pencil test.  Then when I began hormones, a bit more and did feel like wearing a bra.  Last year on the new protocol, quite a bit more, definitely MUST wear my bra!  :o   :D
