Joe.

Does anybody know of any helplines or anything that I can contact to talk about abuse? I've tried a basic Google search but all the results are for woman who have been abused by men and it was domestic violence. Mine was by a female friend who took it a lot further than just bullying, she emotionally and physically (possibly sexually) abused me and it's screwed me up. I can't hold it in anymore and I need to talk to somebody. I can't find any UK support that isn't biased against men. I know there's the Samaritans, and I do feel suicidal but I don't want to call them because I had a bad experience last time. Can anybody help please? It's 3.25am so I'm aware nothing will be open to talk, but even if I can just email them. Thanks.

Sorry I don't know about abuse specific resources in the UK. Is it possible for you to see a therapist?
I know you said you did a google search already, but this one isn't female-specific and includes a Need Help? section with a list of resources (that also help male abuse survivors). http://thisisabuse.direct.gov.uk/
I'm going to be annoying and offer to listen if you want. I don't have psych training and I'm not in the UK, but I have a lot of experience and an internet connection.

Joe.

Thank you both. I see a therapist but I will soon have my last session because I'm not allowed to see her anymore because I'm 18 and too old as their services are for children. Thanks for the link Edge, it looks like it will be helpful. That's not annoying to offer to listen  ??? Thank you.

Thanks learningtolive, I appreciate it.

I don't know if they have a hotline, but they are well known for helping people in this area.

P.S.  No problem.  I'll let you know if I find anything else.

I'm not sure if all the links are great, but I wanted to get them out to you asap.  I hope some of these are helpful.  Please don't feel bad about yourself.  If you are a victim, you are not to blame.  Many men go through these things and there is nothing to be embarrassed or ashamed of.  So please don't let the negative horrible actions of another tear you down.  You are better then them and don't deserve to put yourself in a depressed state because of them.  You will recover from this and come out of this as a strong and courageous survivor.  Hang in there and remember we are all here for you.
