I had to look up "Triquilar." I was not familiar with it. One active ingredient is ethinyl estradiol. It is derived from 17-beta estradiol (E2), which is the active ingredient in bioidentical HRT. Ethinyl estradiol is an antiquated form of estrogen and has been associated with a serious side effect - deep vein thrombosis.
Probably not the best thing for you.
"There is no single hormone called estrogen, instead estrogens are a large group of chemicals, three of them occurring naturally in humans. Estradiol (in shorthand, E2) comes from the ovaries and is the principal natural estrogen of young women. It fuels in conjunction with progesterone the development of the female sexual characteristics, such as breasts, body shape and fat distribution and stimulates growth of the uterine lining. When given by mouth estrogen passes through the liver and much of it is converted to another estrogen called estrone (in shorthand, E1). Finally estriol (shorthand E3) is a weak estrogen important during pregnancy. Plants produce weak phytoestrogens with generally defeminizing influences that have no role to play in the feminization of transsexuals. Plants like the wild yam do not produces significant feminizing estrogens, although they do produce plant hormones capable of being converted synthetically into estrogens and progestins. The estrogen of birth control pills is called ethinyl estradiol and this chemical does not cross the blood brain barrier into the brain. At the high doses used in transsexuals, ethinyl estradiol is dangerous as a clotting promoter and should be vigorously avoided."
