Just wanted to make people awear that facebook are a thick when it comes to removing posts that are harmfull or offensive. I was informed by my manager the other day that someone had posted something about me on a page on facebook. And while most people who commented where supportive of me. there where a few comments that where discriminatory and hate speech. i wasnt particularly bothered about that. however the page this was on was specific to a particular area people lived, and i was named and my place of work was too. I decided that i wouldnt comment on the posts, but i would report them to facebook and ask that they be removed. as i felt that due too the nature of the page if the wrong person read it, it could put my safety in jeprody.

Yea Facebook didnt see it that way. they said it didnt break there terms so wouldnt remove it. after several attempts i finally sent them a message saying so i have to have been attached and beaten to a pulp before you will do anything then.

In the end the only way i got the posts taken down was to contact the adim of the page and explain to them that if i decided to take legal action they would be just as responsible as the person who made the post.

This post is just intended as a warning that Facebook guidelines dont work so be carefull.

Thanks for the heads up, I'm glad the page admin saw reason.

This doesn't surprise me though, I've heard other stories of Facebook refusing to remove discrimination among certain groups of people, not just trans, because they didn't want to see the discriminatory nature of the posts.
