Anytime. I have quit good jobs and moved just because I wanted a change of life. I moved during recessions to go where I could make the most money. I have moved for more opportunity and I have moved just because I didn't like where I was living. I have lived in Van Nuys, Ca, Sylmar, Ca, Granada Hills, Ca, all in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. I lived in Rock Springs, Wyoming and Casper, Wyoming. I have lived in Houston, Tx. I have lived in Knoxville, Tn. Falls Church, Virginia. I now live back in Los Angeles.
As a child I went to 3 elementary schools, 2 jr. high schools, and three high schools. Since then I have moved to 6 different cities and lived in 13 different residences. The longest I have lived in single house has been 6 years and the longest in any city has been 8 years. The upside of working construction is that one can work anywhere. The downside is that one has to follow the work. When recession hits anywhere, the first thing that companies and people do, is stop construction.
I know a lot of people who have lived in one place their entire life. Never experienced the different cultures we have here in the US. It really is our diversity that makes this country great. All kinds of different people from all kinds of backgrounds, different customs, different foods, different political beliefs. It's pretty cool.
Sometimes a serious change can really get one focused back on their lives. Get out of the dull drums of "is this all there is?". In the end, it's a very personal decision.
