hi all i just wanted to say hello to you all

little about me

i live in the Uk and i dont have any friends or family i was placed in a childrens home at 18months old so i have never had anything to do with my family even though i have a few aunties living not far from me if we pass in the street the most we say is hello as we pass.

i grew up to hate myself and from an early age i knew something was different about me at about the age of 8 - 9 the staff found out that i was wearing girls clothes and i got all the talks about how wrong this was etc

cut a long story short i still dressed in girls clothes but not as much wheni was about 13 i battled with myself about this it felt right to wear girls clothes i felt a peace when i did when i left the care of the home at 18 i went right off track the next 15 year i had serval admissions to hospital because they said i was a risk to myself as i had atempted to kill myself a few times i started to abuse myself with drugs put weight on anything i could do to kill myself slowly and disfigure mybody
in jan 2006 i went to my GP and told him how i was feeling and i need help to get mylife back

now july 2007 at 35 i have stopped using street drugs and on a program to reduce and stop the methadone a referal has gone to a gender speclizst (sorry bad spelling) and im on a diet and while i am waiting for my first app i am using the time to get my health back and my life

my doctor has been great i have been speaking to him now for 18 months about how i feel and i know i am not a freak of nature i am just born in the wrong body

if anyone is interested i will keep ypu informed from time to time on how things are going and if you want to know more about my passed life in more detail just ask

one thing i find so hard is not having anyone who i can talk to about this  but as my life improves etc i hope to gain friends

Gee, you sound perfectly normal to me.  It's a shame there's not an instruction manual that comes with the transexual body.  I too knew I was different growing up and I did not know why I always felt like a girl. 

Girl,  I would like to be the first in line to be your friend.  We all need more friends.  It's too hard sometimes just being us.  So if you need to chat or yell or scream, well you've found one place anyway.

This is a perfect place to talk about what you are experiencing and how you feel about it.  We exist to listen, help and support those who find themselves with nontraditional gender issues in their lives so, yes, we're interested!  Share away!

Finding a community of people whose experiences so closely mirror mine has been invaluable to my growth and increasing comfort in who I am.  I hope you'll find the same relief that I have in the realization that there are many of us, even though we may be separated by distance, who understand and know what this journey is like.  Please take advantage of the whole site, though.  The WIKI (https://www.susans.org/wiki/Main_Page) is great for factual information and the links in the Main Page (https://www.susans.org/index.html) will take you to other good resources on the web.

It sounds as if you've had a bad time over the years, but you've landed in the right place to get lots of good advice and information from other ts who know what you go through. I've only been a forums member for a short while and Susans Place has helped me so much.
