Hey guys,

Anyone who has had top surgery, I have a question. I had surgery Aug. 8th with Dr. Garramone. I'm very happy with my results, but it's been two weeks as of tomorrow and I'm concerned about one of my nipples. Not the aureola area, but the actually center nipple. The aureola has stopped bleeding after like the first day of getting my bandages off. Just two days ago though, I noticed the center of one of my nipples was bleeding. Just slightly, but still it's fresh blood, not dried. Should I be concerned? Or did anyone else notice these types of things when they were around 2 weeks post?

Anxious and nervous!  ???

Did you talk to his office? Seems like kind of a doctor question.

No I haven't yet. I wanted to give it a few days before freaking out too much. Apparently they tell most people "it's normal" to many concerns. Figured I'd get the best feedback from people who've been there done that.

It could be that a scab just isn't forming or it does form and gets reopened when you move your arms or something. If it is constantly bleeding to the point where you have to change your gauze, contact him immediately because you could have ripped a stitch or something. I'm not a doctor but just thought I'd add my feedback.

Thanks man. Yea it's def. not bleeding like that! Lol I'd be flipping out! It's just a very small amount... like leaves a pinch on my gauze when I change it before getting in the shower. Just worried me a bit, since I am in week two.

Is it required to have gauze on it? After all, it is week 2. The reason it keeps bleeding could be because the air/oxygen isn't getting to the area in order to form a scab.

He requires it for the first 3 weeks.
