Is it possible to get a feminine body shape purely off hormones with no extra surgery? I've seen a whole lot of people saying no, surgery is the only way which is really disheartening me and making the dysphoria about a million times worse.

Thanks

I don't know if you necessarily need surgery. I'm no expert but I really think it all comes down to your body type. If your naturally skinny and have a hard time putting on weight getting curves is going to be difficult. I was skinny when I started hrt but the only reason that was because I was in the gym working out everyday. But since starting hrt I increased my fat intake and scaled back my workouts that combined with my body natural tendency to gain weight easily I have started to take on a feminine shape now and I do have curves.
So a feminine shape is obtainable but really it all depends on your body and your genetics. And besides you really shouldn't base your ideas of what's possible with hrt off what other trans say. No two people are going to have the same results off hrt everybody is different and really you won't know how your body will respond until you've been on hrt for quite some time.  ;)

Thanks for the reply. My body has a tendency to gain weight in the front rather than the sides, and when it is the sides, it's the waist, so if I put on weight I end up with a gut and love handles with not a speck of fat going anywhere near my hips. Does this change on HRT?

That is the classic male pattern of fat storage, caused by male hormones.

When I started hormones six months ago, my measurements were 36B-30-33. Now I am 32C-27-35. I am 5'5 and 128 lbs. When I started, I was 5'6 and 145 lbs. So yes it is more then possible. I believe I have some hormonal disorder as skinny cis males do not have strecth marks all over their thighs and hips not to mention B cup breasts. Plus I am, or was, very androgynous. But it is possible.

Okay! Thanks! If you don't mind me asking another question, you lost a whole inch in height? I didn't know that could happen.

If I'm not entirely mistaken it has something to do with hormones causing a breakdown in cartilage between your bones; which added up can definitely reduce your size by an inch.
You know I'd rather say nothing; and just be proud of myself for tearing down these walls.

Vastly depends on how your body reacts to hormones. Some lucky ones go from a square block to a nice hourglass, and some unlucky ones will end up with barely a waist to speak of after years.

However unless your underlying bones are of the very very male kind, with time and perhaps exercise, you should get something decent. If not it's big bad luck for you.

Whawhaaaat? I'm the same height and weight as you, yet my body is nowhere near that feminine. Again, have a little scoop of envy.

Stella its entirely possible but it depends on a lot of factors, the  biggies are  your age, your genetics, and your body's addictiveness/ resistance to hormones

I have had no other surgery's other that SRS and don't intend to have any other's, for reference I started HRT at 20, I was 120lbs then, now I am 148, but I was up to 198 at one point 2 years ago.
